    Hi guys

Meanwhile I have to change the values of the Game Engine 1.2.0 directly by editing the cfg file using a text editor. First issue (screenshot 1):
    gameengine1.jpg
Every time when I start the game engine the "pitch" and the "roll" axis are faded out but the values are present in the cfg file.

    SOLVED by a fresh install.

    Second issue:
    gameengine2.jpg
Probably there is a bug of the sliders, p .ex. the smoothing slider ("heave") does not hold a position (seems to be always zero after closing the extended menu) but the value within the cfg file is correct.

Open and confirmed. Update is in the pipeline.

    Perhaps already discussed here.

    Regards
    Pit

try changing the values NOT using a text editor and editing the cfg file , and change them directly in the game engine.

it is the opposite...because the game engine is buggy I edit the cfg file.

Don't edit the cfg directly SimTools is not designed that way and will not work that way at all, will cause issues.
Please only edit via the GameEngine or the GameManager.

Thanks for the input but that will not solve the issue. :) The issue was first due to this I began to edit the cfg file manually.

BTW IMO it is not comprehensive and there is no logical reason why not just editing manually by changing the values. It works definitely.

    @Pit,

It looks like you may be trying to use a single DOF (say roll) more than once for a single axis?

You may notice that you can't select roll 2 times for the same axis assignment.
Once used, it removes the 'Roll' option from the remaining DOF dropdown box's for that axis assignment.

I know you said you only edited the file after something didn't work, but just for the sake of conversation...
if you were to manually edit the file and use the same DOF more than once, or even use the wrong case, it could cause this. There should be no need to edit any files with SimTools at all, that just would be unfriendly.

My suggestion is to do a clean install of SimTools.
(Uninstall and select Yes when it asks to 'Remove old Settings and Files?')
Then reinstall SimTools and show me how to reproduce the error if you can figure out the steps to do so?
If there is an error, I certainly fix it!;)

@yobuddy I have selected roll once only and the other "empty" axis is pitch.

Manaually editing the cfg you run the risk of stuffing them up. As Yobuddy has advised you may need to reinstall SimTools , cfg files are in a hidden directory to stop people from fiddling with them , there is no need in any situation to modify them manually, use SimTools please

Why dislike @Pit what you are doing is screwing your own setup by manually editing files .There is no need and strongly not recommended.
There is no need to manual edit files, all can be done and should be done via the Engine and the Manager

@eaorobbie please cool off I got the message and I am not stupid at all. We are here to clear any issues if they exists and I will do a new install. Nevertheless I attached the cfg main file and the preset file of AC.

@yobuddy I made a fresh install and the pitch and roll axis are now present. The second bug still exists, for better understanding I attached a video. Thanks for helping.

To be confirmed: The smoothing slider of heave shows zero, but Simtools set the correct values in the cfg file. Due to I made a completely fresh install, all values set step by step, I think SimTools could have an issue.

Can confirm same issue here too, Well done @Pit
As soon as you change to a different game and go back all the settings on the filter for heave reverts back to 0
Sorry for being a little heated on other subject, manual editing of files is not needed and strong recommended not too.
Only tested AC like you have, have not tested any other.
    So it is a bug.
