This is to outline what can be built 2DOF wise in simulators
Heres a what I have done 2DOF wise, feel free to add your pics of your builds

@Al.Bundy , its not a "whats the best design "thread. Its a thread showing what can be built.
    The best design is yours.

...and best depends on your own needs.

Seat shakers have less mass to move, full frame more mass but may suit flight/space sim better as the whole body moves, the joyrider has more gentle flight sim type movement.

Building materials can vary. PVC is light and easy to access and stick together as a building material. Frames can be of all types of materials, construction and configurations, wood, alloy, steel or combinations.

Movement and electronic aspects can be achieved in a variety of ways. Movement can be via linear actuators, DC motors, wiper motors and plenty of other options. Similarly, various options exist as to what electronic board(s) are used to drive the system, provide power and sensing (pots).

How many degrees of movement you want will influence design, cost and complexity. Those posted by Bsft (David) are 2DOF, but you can have more DOF, with a huge variation in design.

The desk racer, 2 DOF seat mover and low rear mover can all be pretty compact designs.

Shoulder mount frame have the best 2DOF leverage, but take space, and can be designed a seat shaker or full frame.

In starting this thread Bsft (David) is trying to gather together diverse examples of how each person has resolved those types of design criteria and personal needs. Hopefully that can assist people like me who are trying to figure out what may work best for themselves.

    Thanks for reply !
In my garage is waiting; a lot of metal square pipe, a drive shaft and more.....
I am building the simulator for racing games but have no real clue wich one will be the most realistic ride ......also i want a third dof for traction loss....
I think i will go for the shoulder mount full frame design, thinking that will give the most realistic ride , or is that one moving to much and unlike a real race car ??? So many questions and thoughts here cos i dont want to experiment to much and want to build one wich i will like from the start.

shoulder seat mover with traction loss frame for sure. a seat mover gives more a realistic effect of being pushed back in the seat under power , pushed forward under brakes and being moved around in the seat otherwise. Traction loss the whole rest of the frame.
Look up some in car videos of drivers and you can see why.

Thanks for the examples so far.

Just a thought...perhaps it would be useful to link the posted example to existing build pages, where possible, for further info on the design and build planning and execution.

I know I would like to know more about some of those builds already posted but I don't really want to clutter up this thread too much with off topic questions or comments.
