Hey guys I'm working on a new seat mover build.

After clicking learn and setting a max/min value and applying the settings to the device, when I click motor and detect motor direction and find center it never does anything or move to center, just keeps the popup coming back to find center.

Weird part is if I fire up Sim tools my intended center might have been 3 o'clock, but both motors move around to 9 o'clock side, so its almost reverse of what I intended.

    Anyone have that issue before?

I can make a video if anything is unclear.

after finding max min and applying settings, then go to the INPUT tab, tick the box "automatically set target" , then click run motor. If it jumps to you preferred centre, thats about right. If it overshoots past that point, try "invert feedback" and or " invert motor direction.
Sort the setup of the jrk feedback and motor direction first.
Heres a couple of older vids I did

    does that help?

Ok I got the motors synced up and that's working great. Anyone had any issues with consistent disconnects on a com to a jrk? If I disconnect the usb cable and restart simtools it will work again. I've tried new cables and and ports. Really weird..

does it disconnect in game? or just when it feels like it?
I know my main sim pc needs windows re-install to fix my problem, but I use a laptop for jrk control now instead

You could try a powered USB hub, it certainly fixed my sporadic USB disconnects.

That's a interesting fix. I'll keep that in mind. I changed the comport from 4 to 12 and that seems to have fixed it.

If I ramp up motion settings I notice I can trip a power supply pretty easy, I'm using 575w server power supplies. I assume I need to tweak some settings regarding power and max duty in the jrk config? Would a inline car battery fix tripping, or give my jrk too much juice?

the jrk will only drain what it needs so a car battery on it is fine.
Take a screens shots of the utility tabs and post them up, then we can advise.

Should be all the settings. Wasn't sure if I should lower the max current value or anything else to keep it from tipping the power supply.

Max current is to stop jrk from sending too much current to motors, but set it t 0 (unlimited). The motors will only drain what they need.
P in PID is low at 0.039, whack it up to 0.4
Max duty cycle try at 400.
    MAx accell 400.
    Current calibration try at 130.
    See how that goes.

Wow that made an insane difference on the in game feedback, tripping my power supply reduced about 75%. Might be an issue with it. I'm considering the car battery setup or a better power supply.

    Thank bsft!

thats good, I also just noticed something else, bring the integral limit up from 2000 to 5000, or even 10000. That may reduce problems more as well.

Umm, Try NOT running the Game profiler at 100%. You mention 575w PSU's so you have the Same as i do, 600-pb's and Ive pretty much figured out the Crashing issue ive had and is has to do with running your profile at 100%.....>knock it down to 97% and If you dont have any PSU Shut down's or even should i say, Motion Disconnects and when you exit the track Simtools Crashes.

So far he 98% trick and integral at 5k seems to be a success. I haven't tripped a power supply since those changes where made. :)

beawdy mate! if you are brave enough, you can try twiddling more with "D" as well, maybe move it up in increments on 0.05, so from 0.5 to 0.55, 0.6 , 0.65 etc, and that might even stop more problems.
