After enjoying my simulator so much with formula 1 2013 i thought it was time for a new game to try my sim on so I downloaded and installed the No Limits 2 demo , loaded the plugin and off I was......after some time of fun with that i wanted to go back racing my F1 game then the trouble started , no way I could drive anymore, my simulator was shaking like crazy and nothing seemed to work....I un patched the plugin so many times and tried some other things also with NO luck........finally I did a recovery on my windows 7 back to october 18 and luckily I could play my favorite game again.....
After I looked all over the forum to find a way to prevent this trouble, but could not find it.
Now to my question, Is it possible to play different games with sim tools ? How do I do that without al the troubles I had before ?
Maybe there is a way to make it possible, how to set it up ?
    I would be very thankfull.

@bsft , then how do you do that, say when you switch from game to game, you need to unpatch/patch for each game ?
Maybe i need to study simtools some more :(

Sorry, I installed the games I wanted. Then the plugins were installed through "plugin updater", I then played a race or two of each game to get a "save file" for the patch to read from. I then patched each game. After ALL that, I would go set a profile for each game, save it in game engine and its done.
I could go play example, GRID2 for a while, then exit the game, then go play Flatout2 for a while, exit the game, then go to what ever game I wanted that I had installed.
    Does that make sense?

I have about 20 different plugins installed and all the games play fine with SimTools. So that obviously cannot be the reson for your troubles.
Just a thought: Did you try another motion software that resulted in your troubles maybe?

What version of Windows are you on @Al.Bundy?

Just taking a wild stab in the dark but did you by any chance radically alter the default profile and then apply that to F1 2013, as it is most likely something odd associated with the second game settings, given a system restore fixed it.

Possibly try something like LFS as the second game and take note of what you are doing. LFS seems to be one game that is really easy to setup. I am working through some odd unexpected outcomes with some other plugins (P3D, DCS) on Windows 8.1 but have not yet tried No Limits, I will add it and see what happens for me.

Using system restore does not alter files and won't restore them to a previous state. It simply restores the operating systems registry to the date of the restore point. If any programs were installed after the selected restore date, they will no longer be usable even though all the files for the program are still intact.

So, some action made a change in the systems registry causing your problems and restoring it to a point before that happened fixed it!

Just recently I re-installed WIN 7 64 bit again on my garage PC as it was having issues between transitions between games, dunno why. After nearly a year of headaches, I seemed to have fixed the problem

System Restore "can make changes to scripts, batch files, and other types of executable files on your computer", as per here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-au/windows-vista/what-types-of-files-does-system-restore-change

You really shouldn't let a whoopsy put you off @Al.Bundy. @BlazinH is right, it is likely some unintended action that caused the issue. Take a step by step approach.

AND when you do a Sys Restore - it will show you the programs/files that will be affected.

Thanks for the info and clarifying. I didn’t do a quick search to refresh my memory first and I was thinking only pointers to programs installed after the restore points were changed.:roll And its only personal files that are not altered and its makes since some system files must be restored to their previous state too. It also makes since as to why it can take such a long time doing a system restore!:popcorn

Today I installed dirt 3 , followed @bsft his suggestion and after playing it for a while I go back to the F1 2013 game and it also worked great....so I guess the problem is solved !
I think soon I need a new win7 install cos I have some crashes and BSOD after playing for a while....maybe that also caused the problems before.......

Good you got it sorted @Al.Bundy :thumbs

A BSOD is a critical system fault and a reoccurring one is not good. It should create a fault dump file and that should give an idea of what is causing it. Keep a good back up of everything on the machine as it sounds like it could die at any moment.

    @Al.Bundy.
    Yes, I agree with bsft...
Sounds like your Hard drive is slowly dyeing.
I would do a full backup as soon as possible, just in case.

If you just recently stated having blue screens of death and are overclocking, it may be necessary to back off your settings a bit! After a period of time, an overclock can degrade components to the point they will no longer function properly at that clock rate and it must be reduced.

I had been running a 2500k cpu at 5ghz for a little over a year before I stated getting bsod’s. But I backed it off to 4.9ghz and I have been good at that so far. And if a bsod happens while a file operation is taking place, the file may be corrupted. I once tripped on my computers power cord unplugging it during a system file operation and my computer would no longer boot. Luckily though, all that was need was to run my os install disks repair option to restore the corrupted files without the need for a full install.

Also, something like a degraded or weak power supply can cause bsod too and can be hard to detect when your computer initially starts up just fine!

hi all and thanks so much for trying to help, I have a solid state disk where win7 64 runs from, and I do not overclock at all, my system ran fine for over one year so I guess its time for a new install of win 7, I must admit that I am somewhat lazy with updating my drivers and so and I also download a lot of crap allways......so I guess the faults are because of that
