I'm sure this has been asked on here but after hours of searching last night and today I haven't found a solid answer. I will be in the process of building a motion setup for just the seat to keep it simple right off the bat. I will be using motion control MCP2 or MCP4 motors at 25:1. I also plan to use the Pololu JRK 12v12 motor controller for each motor. Now here is what I am looking for. I would like to see a wire schematic for the setup so I can plan things a little better. I am also curious to know if I can avoid using a power supply in conjunction with a car battery. I would like to be able to plug this into a standard US wall outlet. Any information on this would be fantastic and much appreciated! !

    Kudos to @bsft :thumbs
You can use a decent PC power supply unit (PSU) like 750 W (depending on the motors' power needs). People often use server PSU's e.g. here.

@Donnie Leonard , yes you can run a power supply from the mains to run each JRK. I run 2 PSU on my desk racer, so I plug teh mains power in, plug in USB to computer, start the relevant programs and go racing.
    Heres the wiring diagram

the pot needs to have its shaft connected to the back of the motor.
@noorbeast and @Nick Moxley have some good photos of that.

Thanks for the response, I was able to use some common sense in how it should be mechanically set up but wasn't sure on how the electrical side was setup. I have never used the Pololu JRK 12v12 boards so the last thing I wanted to do was guess and short something out. I appreciate your advice @bsft, from the searching I have done I have seen your name pop up the most with good advice.

Here are two different mountings of pots I have used, one on a hollow shaft DC motor and the other on a solid shaft.

    Hollow shaft motor:

Would recommend using a flexi coupler between the motor shaft and pot, specially if your going to use a hall effect.
