    Guys,

Does anyone know if there is a hack that will stop AC from cutting the telemetry and FFB when you enter into AI driver mode (CTRL-C) ??

I find as soon as I enter into this mode, the Sim still moves but it's on "Celebrity Track Day Mode" :p and a Ferrari 458 Italia will sit at 50Kmh for the whole track and sim movement is no more powerful than a moth fart. Booooo :(

Would be awesome to strap yourself in, load up AC with Nords and hit CTRL-C for a "Passenger run"

I find pCars does the same... :(

    Play rfactor instead for AI
Or use the benchmark test of the codemasters games, but its only a demo.

Yeah - I was more after AC as I have that profile really dialled in and the Nords track is awesome...

Unfortunately I don't own Rfactor or Rfactor 2.

rfactor is free if you find a torrent version.

Wow, I didn't even know that you can go into AI driving mode in Assetto Corsa.. And I was asking myself a lot of times why don't they have that option :roll

rFactor like @bsft said works fine in AI, but also the thing with rFactor is that AI uses much simplier physics when you let AI drive - so it's not really 100% equivalent to the physics like when real driver (yourself) is driving, but it's good enough anyway to let AI or yourself do few clean laps and setup initial motion profile - or "be in the passenger seat" as you wish @Archie :thumbs

I think any AI , or benchmark is purely for demo purposes and thats all. As @prodigy says, real driving is the key, but a benchmark is good for a quick "ride" I have done that with a 2 year old kid on one of the dual racers, obviously too short to reach the pedals, so I sat her in, moved steering wheel down and let it rip for about 1 ish min for a benchmark. No charge and one happy customer.
Rfactor seems to be the better AI, as it can play over and over.

Pcars AI works fine for me on the Old ripped torrent copy i have.( build 831) Unfortunately i feel the Raw data being output is rather lack luster compared to Assetto. Add in the fact the AI drive like they have SUPER Alien speed and use the controls in an unrealistic fashion which leads to a very poor profile if you set it based on the AI lines and driving.

Sorry for the very poor quality video, I still need to set up some proper lighting in my simulator room.

This was just a quick test of Assetto Corsa motion output in 'Special Events' AI mode (CTRL-C), using the BMW at Nords, which is what I gather you are looking for @Archie . I also found the Special Events config files but have not yet messed with them.

It did seem to me that there is less movement than normal, but that could easily be tweaked.

    You have a "Simulator Room" !! :D

Thanks NB, What is interesting is your BMW is running at normal speeds - Might be a difference between an actual race and just a practice.
When I do a Practice run and hit CTRL-C the car will drop to 50Kmh top speed.
My assumption here is that it will use a car on the track to control your AI driver the same. In practice session there is no other cars to mirror.

I will test a few things tonight.

"Special Event" is a start, as yes it would be possible to make a profile just for that mode and pump up the Simtools output.
I run my profile Axis at well below 50% while I am still getting used to things!

    Good find NB - Thanks!

EDIT: Did the FFB of your wheel disappear in AI mode??

There was no wheel movement @Archie.

Yes it is my dedicated 'sim room', that eventually will also be my office. An Omni will join the simulator and eventually there will be an adjustable keyboard and monitor stand. I had originally made that part of the sim, replacing the side mount joystick, but have decided on another way, which will have to wait as I don't have the time for it at the moment.

Thanks - I thought that would be the case. In passenger mode that is a good thing :)

Yes there s no real point to the wheel moving as you bounce around. It was fun riding along as well. In Special Event you also get the choice of how hard core you want the action to be, ranging from Easy to Alien!
