Awesome work. That is looking amazing. Can't wait to see a video of it going.

that dash/wheel setup is awesome. The whole rig takes "desk racing" to a new level

Yeah, I told you the GS-4 + seat mover was an awesome combo.

I am really glad that you are loving the motion. Nords with the GTR is a great track and car combo for motion. I tried that in GSCE as my first track that I used with my motion simulator. I have my rig in bits at the moment getting powder coated so I haven't had a chance to try the new AC version.

Trust me you won't be disappointed with the new version, it is worth the wait @Avenga76! You may have to tweak those settings even further as it is pretty rough in places and as I recall that was a trigger for tripping your sim out.

Yes there is quite the data on the main stretch. Gotta love laser scan tracks. :grin

    Thanks Guys,

From watching the video's i knew the Ring was gonna be awesome with motion, that the reason why i picked it as my first testing track.
I got simvibe working this morning, because no matter how cool the motion is, i was really missing simvibe and especially the engine vibrations.

Yesterday evening the wife thought we had some sparrows in the house :grin

I guess running full motion while she is asleep is out of the question....., so for the night sessions i will have to stick with the GS4+Simvibe

Awesome to hear you got it all up and running bud, As i had expressed Hank, those suckers are Loud if your sensitive to "extra" sounds while racing. I might hear a little gear clunking on BIG movements like kerbs n such, but overall even those minute sounds distract me if the volume isn't at a certain level. I could only imagine Actuator's without a headset. I would pull my hair out.:D:p

heheeee....I play with my headphones off on my rig sometimes with the actuators, despite turning volume up on the speakers , I can still hear them sounding like a psychotic wood saw.
The entertainment is funny when I am online playing along with mates. I have my headset on, but if we play on a particularly bumpy track, they "comment" at the noise in the background as they can hear them over the mic, especially when the swine run me off the track.

Yes Nick, the actuators are noisy, but so are the GS-4 and the Buttkickers. Most of the time i race with headphones, so it doesn't bother me that much.

I am pretty sensative to "extra sounds" though and one annoying sound has come up this afternoon

The GS-4 is made out of 3 large pieces bolted together, these pieces slighty rub against each other and started to give cracking noises. I already took the GS-4 apart for this once and put some grease between them. It only happens during fast left right movements, which torque the seat a bit.

It will be my first job tommorow morning as it bothers me like hell.

One other issue is with the Clubsport Handbrake, somehow this doesn't work when it's attachted to the rig. It's an electrical short to ground issue, don't know where, but if i mount it eletrical isolated it works. Could be a design flaw in the CSS, meaning it's not designed for metal rigs????

No issues with the GS-4 and SX4000 at all. These are, like the CSH, all plugged into one USB hub, which connects to the PC.

The SCN6 are extremely powerfull. I already have turned the intensity down, because the ride was just too rough. The GS-4 is much harder than a regular seat, so effects are felt much better.

I'm running a 100% forces at 6G in simcommander with a car that only can go 2,25G (nissan GTR)

I tried it once at 100% forces at 5G, but there was just too much movement already. There is no way i dare to put it at 2,25G as i'm afraid i will be thrown out of the seat :)

Still have to install simtools, but since i do not have many coins yet, so i still have to do some saving up.

That's why I've put mines in soundproof boxes immediately, I didn't expect them to be that loud and squeaky. And since I don't like playing with headphones, it was either do the boxes or sell the actuators :grin

With Simtools you will find it easier to set the profiles, interface is so much nicer while Simcommander has all those tabs in tabs in tabs, it drives me nuts. There are however some features of Simcommander that would be great addition in Simtools too - like that overlay HUD in the games where you can adjust the profile and add/remove forces directly inside the game, but I guess it's not easy to implement.

Also, have you tried making your profile with Telemetry Output setup in SimComm?
It will adjust your profile after you make a clean lap - similar to Capturing Min/Max option in Simtools, it's good for starting point to have a base profile depending on the car's performance, and you can then adjust that profile to suit your likings - adding some smoothing effects, adjusting intensity etc..

Try mounting a buttkicker to the back of your seat and set it at high volume for engine vibrations, you won't even hear the acculators.
I have two at the back of my GS-4

I started to use headphones when i got my GS-4. That seat is noisy as hell too. It was really liberating. I'm using the closed ones, can't hear anything but the sound coming from the game.

Since then i'm not even bothered by buttkicker bottoming out either.

I have tried the auto tune option in simcommander, but these profiles are made for Stage1 SCN5 acculators. I'm using SCN6 with a much smaller backward angle. These do give a nice starting point though.

I still have to do some finishing off on the rig. I got the handbrake working and removed the clutch from my CSPv2

When the rig is completely done and i have some spare time, the first thing will be installing simtools.

Highly doubt a Shaker or 2 would cover up the noise of actuators. Not to mention how bad it would be to have the shaker CONSTANTLY bottoming out.

    Nick,

I'm taking about a dedicated engine vibration BK, it kind of sounds like there is an extra motor strapped at the back of the seat. The feeling is awesome, the side affect is that it's noisy like hell.
Sometimes even louder than the acculators.

Bottom line: Motionseats + buttkickers make a lot of noise, since i race with headphones it doesn't bother me anymore :

Come on please stop advertising Simcommander we don't use it here, actually we insist people change , it way better.

BTW I worried at the angle to scn6 are at , too vertical. With all that weight I fear the little connecting pin not going to last long , its one reason why SimX wind them down for 400 to 200mm/s or they break and he splays them out to wicked angles too. There is a real reason why Bernard does it.

But have to say , more than a small cars worth there, I could go back to formula ford racing for a year on what you have spent, but bloody nice.

    Thanks, got the message ;)

Hope you are wrong on about the lifespan of the SCN6's though....
I believe they are a lot stronger build than the SCN5's, anyway CXC simulations uses the same acculators at simular angles.

    and... how about Frex

I have my own business and real life racing would take up too much time. I'm expecting the SCN6's should last longer than a season of Formula Ford racing :)

Frex are nothing like the scn series way stronger in build internally ,nothing like it inside, they learnt from their earlier builds and recalls that almost sunk the company.

Weak point in all scn series is the connecting pins from stepper to ball screw , they snap if you place too much weight on them, 20kg radial load max, yes way better than the 5 series which is rated at 5kg.
I just know the years of issues they had with them until he came up with his angles and measurements to increase the life of the machine and not all failed, some went for ages and some never had an issue, so I thought most of the issues came from the manufacturing of them.
But I know from other forums I get dragged into , if bought from him and not set on his recommend angles and only using his software, he wont help with any issues or grant any warranty, massive complaint post on ISRTV was recently delete with many diy guys complaining but be fair that was all scn5 units not the massive SCN6 which I prefer but disappointed that are worth over 500Aus each (not including psu, etc), lol my whole sim cost less than 2 and I can beat it for speed and accuracy.

Without the gs4 in place as shown above I can see you having no issues , combined with all that extra weight I would be a little worried at those angles.

Just another thought he swept his angle out to increase the speeds they can reach, in tight they were only pushing around 100mm/s, out a nearly 45 where he sets them and recommends them , they push nearer to the 200mm/sec, slower than a monster worm gear unit about 1/2. But that's SCN5 have not personally tested the 6 be interesting to see the speed and resolution coming out in a video.
    Sorry to sound negative.
