Nice, I have one TM1638 lying around, totally forgot about it since I left X-Sim3 software and never got opportunity to test it with Simtools since dashboard functions were enabled..

I need to check how it's done in Simtools. Although I see this code from Assetto forums works good, it is only available for AC and iRacing, I believe with Simtools would be more games supported..

here is a couple of pictures of my static rig that I plan to convert to motion

I built it about 4 or 5 years ago and use it for Racing, FPS and Apache Air Assault but mainly Rally
but I have to say Assetto corsa is drawing me into track racing more and more these days;)

    Hi all
As a starting point for the levers on the motor what would be the best CTC on a shoulder mount rig?

I can make two for test and drill a few different centres but what's normal starting point ( I have read so much for so many different styles I can't remember lol )

    Regards
    Dag

It depends a bit on what motors but with wipers you could try 40, 50 and 60 CTC.

In that case you may want to try 65, 75 and 85 CTC.

    Hi

I've mocked up the wiring and motors loaded the arduino with SMC3 ran through the tutorial a bingo I have motion

set up SimTools as per tutorial and bingo I have motion in games, 3 games tested so far so to my question

how does the SMC3 Utils settings look to you guys
im using 2 monster motos with 90zyt 155 with 60:1 I have left the settings im guessing on the low side so I didn't blow anything right away

    motor 1.jpg IMG_2492.JPG

I am using very cheap pots and think that might be why the feedback is not spot on is that correct ?

    Hi guys,

Good news and bad I got rig mocked up, tested it and it seemed to be working ok so started to setup some profiles and then noticed the one motor would stop working intermittently so took a screenshot of smc3 utils

    any ideas?
    feedback stall.jpg
I swapped the power supply's over and it still the same.
Also swapped the pot for a new one and ran a fresh wire from pot to arduino.
Just quickly tried a car battery to power it and still no joy.

    kind regards

    Dag

check monster motor solderings, the power ones, I had a similar issue and it was due to a bad soldering

Ok guys need a bit of help my rig is now in full test mode working with motion very happy (massive thank you all the helpful members of this site);)

Ok so my question after about an hour or so of profile setting I keep getting the one motor stopping, I've tried a range of different kp and pwmmax settings from low to hi, strange that it seemed to work fine for the first hour.
things I've noticed one motor gets a bit warmer than the other but it's the cooler motor that cuts out the heat sinks on both MM are cool to the touch so I'm thinking it's not a heat related issue.

im away from pc right now so if you guys need any screen shots etc let me know

    Thanks in advance
    Dag
