    And I have also drilled a push hole for the motor shaft (thank you to @noorbeast for the tip!) for ease of removal and tapped a 6mm threaded hole for the potentiomenter couplers (will have a 6mm threaded rod for coupling)...

    I also created a sliding arm for what I envisage to be my throttle and joystick mounts on my chair. I had some profile alum and some interesting bits and pieces from my solar panel installation and thought I would use it here....the base pivots forward and back and the the entire thing is a 2 part telescopic arm with a right angle mount to have the plate. Is suspect it may be too long but I'll shorten it if I have to..... :)

    Ok.

    Now to get back on the chair. Apologies for the non posts but I've been snowed under with work and am now somewhat free to continue merrily onto this project (amongst a myriad of others, one which involves a 5th RC car developing close to 10 horsepower! :D)

    On the plus side, I believe I now have everything I need for completion...

    I started the case mod. I have dismantled the 2950 PSU so that its out of the case and I can now rid it of its 'Jetfighter' fan, plus make it a little more compliant in terms of wiring and neatness.
    I have modified the actual case to hold the PSU's and have divided the compartments so that I can place the arduino and moto monsters on the other side with a fan blowing right through to the top of the shield driver boards. And there is additional space for the future electronics eg. dashboard arduino etc.

    I have placed a fan right under the power supply to keep them cool and silent.

    These are the gears I am going to be utilising for the feedback pots
    Spur @ 84T / 48 Pitch & Pinion @ 44T / 48 Pitch - incremental ratio of 1.909 (100 degrees to 190.0 degrees on the pot)

    Atom 1.6Ghz with 4GB ram, 250GB HDD and will be running Windows 8 (a lightened version)

    Dat Case! (the one you're mounting power supplies in)... It looks like a Silverstone ML07B? That's the one I used for my new machine... Amazing case, never thought to use one for anything but a computer...

    Anyway, your project is looking very cool, I look forward to seeing your progress.

    One of the reasons were that they dd not have a smaller spur at the local hobby shop (and I did look for one) but also decided that it may be a blessing in disguise considering if the motors do overshoot the pots would have plenty of leeway for safety and not shatter upon themselves :)
