    Welcome @gunstank2.

You have come to the right place for DIY motion simulation software, information and support from a very active community.

Have a look at existing member builds for ideas and inspiration, it could well help you refine what you may like to do for your own project: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

You will find the FAQ section covers some more specific topic areas, like types of simulators, designs and motors: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/

We have a glossary for all those pesky acronyms we tend to use, which will help you decipher some descriptions: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/glossary-of-acronyms-and-names.66/

When you are ready please start your own project thread here: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

Feel free to ask questions, there is a very active community here that is good at giving tips during planning, reviewing purchase lists, giving feedback and encouragement during the build and providing advice on actually sorting out motion profiles.

And please do take a moment and add yourself to the Member Map: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/memberMap/

    Good luck with your project.

I'm Dries Nys (sounds like Drees Nice in English), i'm 30 something and i'm from Belgium. I've always had the dream of being a racing driver and sim racing has come to a level that's much closer to the real thing as i would have believed a couple years ago.Ever since i discovered the FFB wheel i've been working on my DIY rig (with very average skills) and at the moment it's in a "growing stage". I had no technical schooling and i'm also narcoleptic & cataleptic. Not really affecting my simracing unless i'm doing "lone" races whit no one in front or behind me. But i mainly mention it because it's also the reason i'm dirt-poor. Although i'm assurance-wise not allowed to work with tools (professionally), i am always been auto-didactic with power tools.

I hope i'll have some free time to spend some needed time on the forum here but i'm also currently P1 overall in the advanced mazda's in iRacing. So my focus might be going to the actual "racing" if my chances stay the same.

This is the current state of my rig. I'm also happy with the top part but i would like to start building a new frame since my rig has been "growing" quit a bit over the years...
EDIT; i think i can't attach pictures to my first post?

    Hi @drees nice and welcome
Yes indeed, you can only post links once you have made 5 posts without links. We had so much SPAM that we had to stop it via this method.
Enjoy your stay here and good luck with your future rig :)

    Hi,

I'm a new member from Spain and have some experience with motion simulators. I'd like to build my own motion simulator (currently is just a frame) and hope to find useful info here.

Hi! My name is Allan, I'm brazilian and I'm helicopter pilot. Instead of what you may thinking, I don't want a flight sim, but a racing! I played GT5 in PS3 with G27 Racing Wheel in a 3D TV and think it was cool. When I watch a video about @SilentChill in his 2DOF project I got mad: be sure, you are my inspiration! So, I have a lot to search, read and ask before I start my project, and when I begin, you will know, because I won't let you in peace, heheheheh. Thank you and sorry about my poor english.

Thank you all! Before I start wondering in my project, I have a question: I can buy DC motor (24v, 25~48Nm, 100rpm) to use in this simulator. It's Bosch and new, but I can get hydraulics actuators for helicopter (Airbus Helicopters AS350 - I will get the especification), with pump and lines. I just don't know if it's better or I'll just get too much trouble to get involved with the hydraulics..

    Welcome @Allan Ferreira dos Santos.

Please feel free to ask questions, there is a very active community here that is good at giving tips during planning, reviewing purchase lists, giving feedback and encouragement during the build and providing advice on actually sorting out motion profiles. However, the place to ask questions is in your own build thread rather than this welcome thread. You can start your own build thread here: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

If you want you can dual post in your native language but please do also include an English translation via Google Translate. It saves other members time trying to work out who may need help and who is just posting a comment. We have bi-lingual speakers from many different language group so if Google Translate really messes it up they can help clarify what was intended.

Thank you @noorbeast! I will start a thread soon. Does anyone know if I can change my account name? I logged with Google+ and I want to have something shorter.
