    Hello,
so today I had some more time to take care of my settings.
I found a good setting for sway now, but I need to set a smootheness filter of Min 35%.
For surge i found good values to. I only having some problems when the motors are going down for braking. It's not a very smooth motion, more some kind of steps. But i think this has something to do with motor settings.

I added Heave today, but in Assetto Corsa I have the value at 1.65. If i decrease it, it will break my neck :)
I'm thinking of increasing it more, but then I don't feel any bumps on the road.
Or does this more depents on pitch value.

Because with my current settings I can feel the bumps in the road, but if I drive on a curb at the corner, I will get smashed around.

Sry for all these Questions, but I'm relly new to motion profiling.
I also will collect all Information on the First post.

After tweaking and tweaking my settings, I think I have an accteptable profile now.
I added Pictures of Pedals and Cockpit to the first Post. You can also see the new footplate on the upper structure.

Since I got a ps3 eye camera for headtracking tests, I could make a Video in Assetto Corsa Nordschleife. Including windows Errors, Crashes and a lot of bad driving :)
Sadly the gearindicator is hided by my shoulder.

For the Headtracking, my computer is not able to do sim and headtracking, to much cpu load. I ordered the parts to build "Ed Tracker" Someone have experience with this Device? Will this setup reduce the Cpu load?
I really like the feature to look into corners, so it would be nice to have it without a computer upgrade or use a second pc.

    Hello,
I've checked my whole computer and turned everything off. Without headtracking I have no Problems with my Computer. Cpu load is still high but everything works. I checked facetracknoir uses about 12%cpu at my pc.
I know I can use a second pc for simtools, but I relly don't want to, becuase i broke the lanport of my laptop. It would be hard work to fix this.

So since i alredy orderd the Parts I will give this a try. If it's not working, I'll wait to get some money and upgrade the Pc.
I think Assetto Corsa really stress my computer.

But first I need a better webcam to showing you a proper video of the Sims movements.

    Hello,
I recieved all of my Hardware for Edtracker and maked the first Tests. At the moment it runs quite well.
I also mounted my Hall Effect pots. Now the motion gets better again.
I only have to sort out a Problem with the Gear boxes.
The problem is descriped here by @Ville Pesonen 2DOF motion simulator build
It is really annoying. I thought about some Dampers or springs to support the motors holding the upper platform.
I thought about something like this

Did you think this will ne usefull?

If they are brass gear 60:1s and did not have slack when new then it is likely the teeth of the main brass gears have deformed as a result of the load on reversals, as the design limit is only 90nm.

Design wise these motors use the same diameter gear as a 25:1, but because they have far more teeth, to achieve the lower ratio, the dimensions of each tooth are far less. If the reversal spike load is over 90nm, which is not a lot, then the brass teeth can be deformed, resulting in slack.

I have redesigned my sim to significantly reduce the load. I was lucky in that I picked it up early and only one gear was affected. I have since changed the gears in that gearbox to fix it.

Depending on how you made the levers you could try turning the main gear 180 degrees and check if that takes up the slack. If so then the teeth in the original contact area are deformed. The only real fix then is to redesign to lessen the load on reversals. If not then check things like the keyway for slack.

My gearboxes had the slack in them when they were new also, and agree that it's pretty annoying. In some cases it makes the movement jerky. I have no idea how to fix it though, other than getting new gearboxes.

Mine had this slack also when where new. Are there any alternative Gearboxes avalible which will fit the motors without much work?

If they have slack the 3 most likely areas are the gears, the coupling to the motor or the keyway. It would be worth examining each to find where the slack is.

    Thanks for that useful Input.
But I think a redesign isn't possible at the moment. I really thought very long about the design, and I really wan't nothing other than such a structure.
Since I work in a car garage and there these demperes I post previous are very common, I've got some at home with different Newton ratings to try.
It looks very good, but the motors are stopping quite fast in case of the blown fuse. The dampers are still to strenght.
I need to find some good dampers. I will try this before dissasembling the gearboxes.
But first I must find the right N value for the Dampers, since I can't calculate them with math formula, i need to try so i will order some different ratings and try them.

For the gearboxes, I don't think they are brass Geared. I bought them from motion control products in uk and in the Datasheed they send me stand something about plastic. I need to search it on the computer.

    @noorbeast
You mean you changed the gears itself against new ones, ore replaced the whole Gearbox? Did you have a supplyer for the gears or where you get it?
Or you changed only the Maingear 180°?

    Thanks

I change the gears, which was provided by Motion Dynamics in Australia.

    Hello,
so today after some trouble with the seller the dampers I ordered finally arrived. This are 50N each at the moment. They could be a little bit stronger something about 80N and a little bit longer. But this helps my sim very much. I need to find some in the right lenth and strenght.

I chose 60N each, 25€ inkl. postage. They are testwise attached to my rig. I need to build some new holders.
The annyoing gearslack is mostly gone and it is a huge Improvment for motion. Now the moion of my sim is finally as i had in my mind and now it's no frustration to play its fun :)

    damper.jpg

So @Ville Pesonen if you still have the same problems maybe you try this too.

Also my new handbrake arrives. For 40€ it's not worth build all the holders and lever myself.
I try to convert it to loadcell like shown by RacingMat.

Do you have a link to the 60N struts you chose?

A video of it in action would be great when you get the chance.

I'll have to think about adding dampers to my rig as the gear slack is pretty annoying.

I was able to take a video of the motion of the sim. You can see the damper work in the front. I'm still trying to record my gameplay, but it seems my pc isn't capable of that.
I'm not the best driver spent more time on building :)

Nice to see your rig in action, this time with the shift display also visible.

We all crash at Nords, even if you know it well there are so many places where the smallest mistake ends in disaster if you are pushing it...lucky for us it is no big deal compared to the countless cars Nords has claimed IRL.

    Hello,
yes Nordschleife is really dangerous, but it's my Favorite track.

I had much time to play now with my Sim and had a lot of fun. Maybe I*'m getting crazy, but I think the gearslack is getting bigger.
So i finally decide to take my Rig apart again and do some fixes.
I will think about the Hole design again, I need to save some Weight. Also it seems my Seat is a little bit to high, as it starts to roll over a little bit in hard corners.

Coming back to the Motors, @noorbeast you said I could swap the main Gear 180°
So you mean just applying 12v to spin the potor 1/2, set new midpoint and attach levers? Or Really opening the Gearbox and turning the Gears?
