Unless there is a dedicated axis that only does one thing, like traction loss, there is always a degree of dialing a motion profile in using all the other motor axis. For example my heave axis uses all three motors in unison.

So no, the only time it is a good idea to use exclusive settings is when the axis it is controlling is the only one that can affect that particular motion, such as traction loss or a dedicated surge table.

I am working toward a generic motion profile for Assetto Corsa that I can tweak further per car. It may not look like it but the seat moves around under you quite a bit and heave brings a whole new dimension to Nordschleife, particularly in places like Flugplatz where you really feel the lift and compression.

When they are uploaded I will post some other videos of the basic profile used with the Williams F1, the Corvette and Cobra, as they are all very different in the way the suspension moves and hence I used them when working on the profile.

For now here is the Williams FW31 @ Nords, the Game Manager has been turned down to 95% to tame the motion a bit, as above that the bumps at Nordschleife are just too rough.

Nice video, I can see the sim really shaking around, just drive a softer car.
Oh and I am surprised on how low the wheel is . Id though higher , but its what suits you

I am uploading a comparison video now, the Cobra is very different to the fw31. I may make a higher wheel post at some stage but it's current height is determine by what length it could be to also fold down to centre mount the Warthog joystick.

Ah, ok, I forgot about joystick, maybe make height adjustable column.

Yes adjustable would be the way to go.

Noor, do me a favor and test with the F1sr 2006 Ferrari mod. Remember the Williams has been left in the wake of the Shi* storm that Scott from FCM left and it hasn't been updated to current specs so in reality its a tail happy, with Very little traction but Quality looking mod at minimum, unfortunately tho the physics/Suspension are essentially broken. And i can see why you need to bump down the main profiler, The main test tracks we use for motion testing are Monza, Spa and Silverstone. Nords in real life would be a death wish with a F1.

Do you have a download link for the Ferrari @Nick Moxley, I would enjoy trying something new and value your suggestions?

Yes I can bump the profiler up on the likes of Silverstone, Spa and Monza but as you know I love the complexity and challenge of Nords. For me it is just a bit of fun.

Here is a birds eye view of my compact sim's heave using the FW31, Corvette and Cobra at Nordschleife.

In their motion the FW31 is rapid and harsh, the Corvette moderately stiff and the Cobra wallows at the edge of uncontrollability. Each are fun in their own way and feel completely different despite using the same motion profile.

In between cars the sim returns to its un-powered state, the front 60:1 motors can't be back driven even un-powered, but the rear 25:1 motor can.

Hi @noorbeast, cool vids you've taken of nords! Heave spring looks like so much fun!

Thanks for the feedback on the axis and how to dial them in. Out of curiosity and excuse my ignorance with motion sims, is it not possible to dedicate the heave axis to one motor alone?

    :)

Yes you can run Heave on the Heave motor only, but you cant control the left and right seat motor's independently with heave. The heave Axis works off of a + and - Value from what the car is doing in game, either Going UP or Down.

What is needed to dial in a motion profile can differ quite dramatically. For example these are my current setting for Assetto Corsa, I use 5% smoothing on the rear heave Axis 2. Note I am using all 3 motors for heave and also for surge. It is likely hard to see in the videos but with surge the rear motor actually pulls the seat back and pushes it forward a small amount because of the arc of the heave knee.

The settings for heave are dramatically different for LFS, there I am using quite a bit of boundary limiting for heave and much less allocation on the rear Axis 2.

Awesome driving @noorbeast ... Sooo HOT and encouraging videos .
you hit the 200 KM H pretty easy with the FW31 on these fu**nig bouncy tight curves ...
Where did you learn to drive aggressively like that ? ... WOW :grin

Sorry for the OT, we should discuss this somewhere else not to dirt @noorbeast thread. That car is amazing @Nick Moxley , made a few laps @Spa 1.51.3. Had to turn down SimTools main level % :grin

I've had the pleasure of working with one of the Best Physics/suspension guys in AC. He's taken my rig under consideration and we've built some of the BEST F1 physics you can find. He's now part of Virtua simulazioni So, If you want quality Physics for motion, you know where to look. If you want to know which to Avoid like the plague, Pm me. Lol

Also make sure to take the One:1 for a whirl when it releases, 1300+ Hp, 350+Km/h with Active Aero is a rather unique experience. Oh and Yes It also sports a Modern "Triplex heave damper" as seen here.
