I am not a DIY for sim rigs, that's why I went commercial. AMS enables the use of X-Sim and SimTools but does not support either. As for commercial agreement, I don't know if one is necessary if there is a charge for the software/plug-ins? Anyway I don't want to start a problem with using this software with a commercial rig for my own use. I am just an end-user trying to get the most from my motion rig. I am not opposed to paying for plug-ins as SimTools is free. Thanks guys!

Ok then, what about SimXperience guys using simtools then for private use? They are bought commercial rigs for private use.
How is an Atomic being used for private use with Simtools any different?

Those and other licensing matters are for @yobuddy to clarify and determine regarding what term, conditions and controls will apply to the use of SimTools.

Way way off topic but actually I have the privilege of a long professional career working with people, including some of the most profoundly disadvantaged, their families, carers and teachers, some of the most inspiring individuals you could ever hope to meet and directly with some of the most reviled members of society, including convicted murders, child sex offenders and the very worst of abusive parents.

Do I choose my words, even without thinking about it, sure I do. Because I have had some of the toughest discussions imaginable. Like discussing with a child every tiny detail of the very worst types of abuse they have endured, for years, how they feel about it, what they think of their their abusers, and how to get past it and make their life their own. Or having a court make you legally responsible for a convicted child sex offender, being released and integrated back into society, including working with them and multiple agencies regarding their mandated day to day supervision, support and education while keeping them and everyone else in society safe.

When you work with the very best and worst of people you either become very bitter and cynical or learn to look for and value respect and dignity above all else, even in the very worst of circumstances.

Back on topic, guys have Simx rigs and use simtools for private purposes and have been for a while, so unless there is something different, if a plugin for Atomic was developed, THEN they are able to use that rig for private use, otherwise why would a plugin have been made?

I did purchase a download package and am now getting it setup. Simphynity is supposed to support PCars but I can't get it to work. I've tried X-Sim (which I purchased) but found it to be more involved than I had hoped and never really got it working. I also purchased SimCommander from SimXperience, but just for the SimVibe software to use with my Buttkickers. So when I saw other interests in SimTools (the OP) I thought I'd try it. I've got motion to PCars now, just have to dial it in. SimTools is easier to learn. Thanks to @value1 for his effort to get it to work. I'll put up a pic later.

Curios why you would purchase SimXperiences motion software ? Or do you just mean you purchased Simvibe THROUGH SimXperience ?

Yes, SimVibe comes with SimCommander. Can't get it alone. Have to buy SimCommander. SimVibe works great!

Yes, SimVibe was $89 and SimCommander 4 came with it. My mistake. SC comes with SV.

Simphynity is AMS own software for the A2 and A3 motion platforms. Like SimTools only proprietary. Simphynity won't even start unless the A2 or A3 motion platform is plugged in (USB). The motion platforms will not work without Simphynity.

I got my A2 working with SimTools with SimVibe and Simphynity all working together. I posted a video on YouTube
Happy to see it working. Thanks to the author and devs of SimTools. Also glad to see this forum so active. :)

Good to see you got it working and thanks for posting the video.

Now the fun starts in refining the motion profile.

To me it looks like you could benefit from refining heave, which can have low values in the Tuning Center, sometimes less than 1, and setting up surge for some snappy gear changes: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/motor-driver-for-arduino-compatible-controller.11/category

You can ignore the JRK part but do download @bsft's excellent guide to developing profiles: http://www.xsimulator.net/community...-set-up-simtools-jrks-and-write-profiles.112/

Thanks noorbeast. I will definitely take a look at those guides. I do need more acceleration and braking forces on the pitch and left/right forces on the roll.
