Still not clear on what you would need to see. It uses springs on each side for centering. I shaft in the middle that goes down to a pivot point past the t section that contact the end switches. At the end is either a hole or a collared shaft that a bolt can go through. magic. Its the most simple design shifter in the world.

There is many types of Arcade shifter the one you point to it yes it is two springs driven however the one I have it has a pin on the center of the shifter stick with a pressure point that goes up on a V shape metal and touch a plastic bumper witch I feel a car positive feeling, what I did not like is the knob it is plastic how ever I will replace it for a aluminum racing knob.

I will take pictures of the inside, just remember you will find multiples types of Arcade shifters.

Yeh, I shared the link to the one you have. Its important to get one that recenters. Most cabinets use a high and a low so it stays forward or back

@pipis2015 , you might also look into an industrial joystick. Many are two position with heavy duty springs for return to center. I hacked one for my simpit. Works great and has just enough resistance to make it feel realistic. Many to be found on Ebay for around the same price point.

    Thanks all for the replies,

I was not clear myself on the exact detail that I wanted to see.

But I got the info I wanted.

Of course It is easy to understand that a sequential shifter is a rod that pushes two opposite switches and is centered by some kind of spring mechanism.

The thing that interests the average diy-er is the contraption that is incoporated in order to give the notchy feeling of the real life sequential shifter.

@pipis2015 , this is on my 7 speed gated shifter but here is one way to get that "notchy" feeling when shifting. It will work for a sequential as well, just make the ramps shallower and have a strong return spring. I actually made a plate for the bottom to capture the rod for sequential with return springs to keep it centered. It had a lever to raise and lower it into position. That way I could switch between 7 speed to sequential. But I found that I preferred my sequential shifter higher on my simpit and the gated shifter low like a sports car.

EDIT: Added link to Willinova's original DIY Shifter thread where I found this design.

I had some issues with the Arcade shifter, the spring was too weak for the weight of the handle so i replaced the spring see video:

I've seen this on Windows 10 when an update reset all my file permissions.

I had to reset the Shortcut / exe to run with Admin privileges and that seemed to fix it for me.... Hopefully it's that simple for you.
