You need to install an old runtime (0.5.0.1), but it's not compatible with windows 10. For Windows 10 you need to use this switch.
The DK2 must be your main monitor to be used with Assetto and I suggest you to set the Assetto Corsa runtime in windows mode (I don't remember the file to edit for that) and to move it to your desktop screen because the display in the rift is active only when you launch a run.

EDIT : using OBS is very useful if you want to see the game on your desktop screen (for friends)

Yes @f1iceman I found one here in Italy for 280€ plus delivery, a really good price considering how they're selling it now.
You can read my experience in my rig's thread: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/blame73s-2dof-seat-mover.6029/page-13#post-98559

I'm so looking forward to hearing from the ones who already ordered CV1 and who'll get before the others (@noorbeast @shannonb1 and you if I'm not wrong) the differences between DK2 and CV1

Yes I have a March 28 Rift pre-order @Blame73, I just hope Oculus learnt from the DK2 pre-order debacle where Australian orders were delayed for literally months compared to those in the US.

My expectation is that the CV1 Rift will have a bit better resolution and FOV than my GearVR, plus of course positional tracking that GearVR lacks.

As my interest is more in the VR tech itself than actual games in many respects I am more excited about the Vive pre-orders opening late this month, as the Vive will be a complete VR package at launch, with VR wireless controllers and room scale tracking. For me the CV1 Rift at launch is just an upgrade from the DK2, as the Touch controllers are not available until late this year.

I am in the same boat as @noorbeast I have a March 28 CV1 preorder but I expect they will screw over New Zealand because they never sent me an estimated shipping date.

    We will see though.

Don't forget DK2 means Development Kit. So the experience won't be the same. Everything is better with CV1 and it's include audio !

My visual expectation comparisons were to GearVR, and based on those I expect the CV1 to feel more like an upgrade from the DK2 rather than a paradigm shift.

I appreciate the Oculus audio SDK, free sounds and major game development platform audio plugins, but to be honest while important I don't think audio is as intrinsic as tracked controllers and room scale. Plus it only comes into play when the Oculus audio SDK is implemented by developers, though it will be interesting to see how well different devs do with that.

Sorry it was not for you @noorbeast as you have a big experience and I'm sure you follow all news on VR :D. It was for @Blame73 .

I'm pretty sure tracked controllers and roomscale will be very immersive. But I don't think it's the future of VR because not everyone has the same surface or the same form part and for developers it may be very difficult to satisfy everyone... And play standing is not yet on the agenda for most gamers :grin.
Since I almost only play racing games, controllers and roomscale don't interest me except for curiosity:popcorn

I really hope CV1 headphones could be detachable.
I'd really prefear using my valued isolating Sony headphones than those cheap '80s like they propose.

It seems that it's a very good audio and comfortable headphone (same comment when I saw it for the first time). Yes it looks like an old headphone but people who tested it where very surprised by quality, comfort and you can't hear outside noise. But yes you can detach it :D

Looks like the Assetto Corsa devs have CV Rifts and they already promised support so it should be ready by launch. Only downside is that only one dev is handling it and he can't promise new features.

The one dev is the main developer, so I doubt he could have time for other than the console launch/1.5 update.
The fact is that VR also needs a GUI update, not just an SDK "patch", and that GUI thing could be the thing that makes it slow down and the main reason why we don't have access to setups in game. Rebuilding a GUI for VR it's not as easy as it seems (otherwise we would already have had id. Functions are already there...)

VR menus are desperately needed in AC as it is crippled for competitive game play without them, but you are spot on, that is a bit of work and not just an upgrade.

Fingers and toes crossed that there is progress on AC menus as I no longer bother using it in VR since I started fiddling with the tuning capabilities, which you can't access in VR.

The fact that they stopped staying up to date at 0.6 to me means it will take them that much longer to update the game to be compatible.

Here is a video of how you remove the headphones. They just simply click in with two pins, it actually looks like a really good design for detachable headphone

I have heard that the headphones that come with the rift are actually quite good but it is good that you can remove them if wanted.

the cv1 i think should make some driving gloves with the sensors then the game developers should make the buttons on the dash work for you to press. im sure it will come one day soon. should market a driving set up and fps set up to sell or sell everything seperate to keep buyers costs down, like the headphones on cv1 you can make it it what you wan tit to be then, cv1 with those headphones will be great just pik it up put it on no more wires no extra thing to pick up.

You can already do that. I use my Leap Motion controller in FlyInside for FSX to press buttons in the plane cockpit. You don't need gloves, it is just an pair of IR cameras which can track your hands.
