    Hi Thano

I have finished to built the avr controller and H-bridge board, and now i want to test it with my wiper motors,

I run force sender then I run force profile , I configure universal serial interface and I start the simulator , the numbers on lcd change if I move the control of x and y on force profile but the motors ?
what is plug-in for games ?
I don't know to configure x-sim for my tests. I would like to use the simulator with rfactor.

    Re: info about x-sim configuration

Before connecting the AMC to the pc, you should make a hardware test.

    1. test: connect pots to the AMC and watch if both pots display correct values between 0 and 1024 on the LCD.

    2. test: connect the H-bridge to the AMC. Power the H-bridge on now, but without the motors connected yet. Turn both pots and watch the LEDs on the H-bridge. When the pots are in middle position, all four LEDs should light up, when moving the pot to the end positons, either the green or the red one should light up on the corresponding side.

    3. test: connect the pots to the motors, and connect the motors to the h-bridge (dont forget to isolate the wipermotors housing from GND!). Therefor you have to place the pots in middle position (512 on display) and the crank of the wipermotors as well while mounting the pots.
After mounting the pots, move both motor cranks. Now power the AMC and H-bridge, and watch if the cranks move back to midlle position (512 on LCD)

If all works well, we can move on to feed your hw with data.

    regards
    Chrsitian

Take a mulit-meter, and check resistance by connecting one test prog on the housing, and the other one on both power wires. If the resistance is zero, you have to modify your motors.

I just have a german link, but the pictures are very describing.

test of avr controller by thano

    Hi christian

I power up the avr controller with H-bridge but the four led remain off, why ?

I use only a pot to test , and I power up the hbridge with a 12V battery. perhaps there is something of wrong on my boards!

Please follow the tests in the order I proposed.

Does the AMC LCD display the pot value correctly?

Re: testing avr controller with h-bridge

    Hi,

You should check the cable you use between AMC1.5 and DSMhb1.2 boards. You may build wrong pinout orientation on the connectors. It also happened to me, several times, with those molex parts.

It could be helpful to post some photos of your boards (clear, good lighten, and as much closeup you can) with cabling attached on it if possible.

And please don't use the NEW TOPIC button each time you want to reply here. Use the POST REPLY button!!! Otherwise its like you are flooding the forum with new topics containing no answer to your questions.

    Hi thanos

I want to ask you some question about Avr controller.

If I'm behind joyrider : bank motor on the right and pitch motor in front.
avr controller not connect to x-sim

I turn the structure on the right the bank motor go clockwise or anti ?

I move the display to the sky the pitch motor go down or up ?
and what happen when I move the display down!

How to configure x-sim to your controller for Rfactor

    regards Stefano!

Does not matter, you can adjust it in the software later.
But your sim has to center correctly, before connecting to X-Sim.

    Hi everyone,
I am new on the forum and on the simulators.
I have the same problem as Mr Tetesim, when I power up the avr controller with H-bridge, the four leds remain off in the middle position (512)…. LCD displays correctly the pot values...moving the pot to the end positon the corresponding LED light up. When I connect the motors, in this case 4 LEDs light up in the middle but moving the pots doesn’t light up corresponding side and the motors take no action. I check the cable between AMC1.5 and DSMhb1.2 boards, the pinout orientation on the connectors are ok. I have the Texas Instrument’s 74HC08, I tried 2 other, they act same way, then I tried another brand that doesn’t worked.
I am trying to TEST the Hardware as Mr Egoexpress specified but facing with this problem,I have no idea on what doing…
    Please can anyone help me.
    Thanks
