    Hi all,

I'm thinking about getting into VR and building a 6DOF rig.

I figure the first thing I should do is get a headset and start working with it, but it looks like the trend is now for manufacturers to move toward inside out tracking. It seems like this will be a major problem for motion cancellation, which appears to be pretty important for a motion sim.

So my question to the group is: if you were just starting out and could buy any VR system that you want, with the intention of building a 6DOF rig, what would you buy? I'm already on the waiting list for an Index, but that's at least 3 months away. I was hoping to have the whole system done by then... Maybe get an OG Vive and upgrade to Index later? I'll listen to any and all options!

My plan is to use this for flight sims and rollercoasters. Will probably get into racing at some point.

    Thanks,
    Darren

I would stick with the Index you have on order.

A 6DOF is a major first project so focus there for now, as it is likely to take you more than 3 months to complete and get it sorted.

    You're probably right about that.
