    Re: Ledfoot's 2DOF simulator project

If Bernard is reading this: Can you make these for 100mm actuators and if so what price guide can you give? EDIT: I've just been on your website and the prices are on there. Good prices.

And also is it possible to have like a chrome plated effect on them? Are they mild steel so can change colour of them by powder coating after when received. EDIT: Again just checked my private messages and yes it is steel with powder coat.

    All questions answered :).

    Hi Fahim,

These actuator covers are designed to fit both 100mm and 150mm SCN5's. SCN6 covers are on the drawing board. Currently, they are only produced in Red and Blue and are powder coated. Chrome plating is possible but it raises the costs quite a bit. This is not only because the of the cost of chroming, but because I do not have the facilities for chroming and thefore ship the items out to be chromed and then get them back. The transportation costs are considerable. Nontheless, it is possible.

There are currently no plans to sell them unpainted or un powder coated.

I'm glad to hear that the pricing is good. I have worked very hard to find ways to produce all of the SimXperience products as cost effectively as possible fo rthe DIY community. Also, don't forget about the X-Sim contributors discount. You have been contributing here for some time and are definitely able to receive the discount.

@Ledfoot - Sorry to hijack your thread to respond to this question. It is great to see that the dampeners are working out well for you!

Yes sorry Ledfoot to ask questions in your thread but I never knew of member who had about these covers from Bvillersjr.

Depending on the demand, maybe it's interesting to import some with a few X-Sim'ers together to Europe to lower shipping costs?

    Re: Ledfoot's 2DOF simulator project

    Hi guys,

Thanks for the interest. I'm not sure exactly what it is we can or can't discuss here, so I would request that someone start a new thread in the Marketplace section. It would seem that it is somehow a violation of forum rules for me to have this conversation with you here. To be honest, I've never seen any forum rules, but at a minimum, we are somehow in violation of Egoexpress's rules (who does forum moderation, cleanup and post categorization). It's a bit of a fine line, since we discuss products throughout these forums, but I guess discussion of product pricing is best categorized in the Marketplace? I would be happy to answer your questions either via PM or in the Marketplace section.

I've made thread for the actuator covers:

The scn5 actuator covers can be made by yourself or you can buy them from simxperience.com

Ledfoot (x-sim member) have already bought these and recomends.

I'm tightning the nuts on top of the actuator covers. how do you do it, the nut is on the bottom side and you cannot get a spanner to hold it and also the way the cover is built, does it mean the nut has to be on top side?

I'd rather the nut on bottom side because it looks neater :)

    Hi Fahim,

Please see the installation photos in the manual. The nuts that are included with the kit are intended to be on the top side. You would need small nuts if you wanted to reverse them.
