hello i start a 2dof diy sim with wheel chair motors and ibt2. i chance the code to mode 2 but when i connect both motors one of them losses power and qoes off. i try everything. if i use the motors in one ibt2 they work fine ....i can (panish) them in manual mode and never qoes off. i was thinking it was i false ibt2 , but i have test 4 of them and they do the same think i will post a video ..please help.. :)

edit...... if i use them one by one in one ibt2 i mean. i seems like the programm doesn't work the same for the two motors whemn they are both connect. one is powerfull and the other when it begins to move the green line goes away and shuts down. if i make small movements in manual or in sine it may work a little but all of a sudden it qoes off. sorry for my english :)

Please post pictures of all of your settings.

    Is your pot properly centered?

If you swap hard ware side to side does the problem remain on the same side or follow with the hardware swap?

yes the pot its OK. the problem follows the hardware swap only when I swap the ibt2. but as I said I try 4 or 5 new ibt2 .and all do the same think.another think that I found now is that if I push a little with my hand the side with the problem itgoes off . the other side I can stand with all my weigh and it doesn't stop.it keeps working up and down

Have you checked each IBT2 with a multimeter on the side that is a problem?

Can it be something with the software and the Arduino Uno clone that i have??i have done all the testings in hardware chance everything with the other. And all shows at the end tha its the ibt2. But 5 different all with the same problem???

If there is full voltage in, but inadequate voltage out then that could be an issues. If the problem follows if you move the IBT2 to the other side then that would suggest a hardware issue.

100% sure that the cables are connected correctly ? this definitely sounds like a cabling issue...especially when 1 is working, but not when 2 at once....
Normally I would blame the Arduino...but you already changed that (I assume to a genuine one, and not swapped to another clone? :)

And you use 2 power stations, so 1 per motor?

yes 2 power stations .and clone adruino.. :( it seems like the board chooses one side to work full power and the other with little movements goes off. to give you understand in manual i think the max and clip limits doesn't matters. so if i go manual in one motor i can puss it to the limits and beyond and it nevers go off. the other one when i move it it losses power. and in the simtools when i open it the motors losses center. they move . and when i go for a test the one with the problem goes off.

do you think that a genuine adruino will do the job ??? :)

I had so many strange issues with my clone arduino, for example, 1 motor was only turning 1 way, resetted/stopped, did not start etc..... when I swapped to an original one...worked within 5 minutes...

Just to add my two cents. I ordered 10 ibt2s and 7 of them were dead in various ways. I ordered 12 more and all 12 were perfect... they are very hit or miss. I test them by connecting them to and arduino, power source, pot, and motor then I power on the circuit and make sure I can change the direction the motor spins with the pot. Next I make sure the motor speeds up when the pot is at the limits of the graph in SMC3 in both directions and lastly I try to stop the motor by centering the pot (very hard to do by hand). When I tested my first batch in this way several IBT2s would only drive the motor in one direction and also heated up VERY quickly. They kinda worked but they have to pass all those tests to be a working motor driver (for this purpose at least). If they cant pass those tests then its a bad motor driver.

Here is a video of me testing. It is in English and it does go over some very basic stuff but it shows the setup I described above:

very useful thanks!! in mine rig strange thinks happened. at this moment i move the motors in the front side . when i did this they start to work without any of the motors go off. even when i puss them to the limits in manual. i didnt chance the pot or the cables or the ibts or the Arduino. nothing. someone will say that the rig is heavy or something else was going wrong when the motors was in the back. i dont know what was the problem. one off the motors always goes off even without load.i hope to stay this way and keep working so i can finish it. :)thanks again !!

does the motor cut off when the rig is level and not moving without a rider?
