Question plugin, license.. something doesn't add up to me

    if I understand correctly the plugins are either paid for by activating a subscription or if you are active in the forum you can get them without paying, but I understood that without a simtool license the plugins do not work and if you buy the license the plugins are included.. so if this is the case it makes no sense to take the plugins but is it better to take the license directly? correct me if i'm wrong.

    By way of clarification, up until SimTools 3, currently in open Beta testing, community developed and maintained plugins have been hosted and accessible via Xsimulator.net.

    SimTools v3, still in open Beta testings, introduces a new repository plugin system.

    The evolution of SimTools is that v1 was originally free. Following some exploitation in the commercial sector the licensing of SimTools was introduced, along side paid versions of SimTools v2. SimTools v3 is another near total rewrite and introduces the repository plugin system, plus a vast host of other changes to improve perfoance and ease of use.

    No, plugins other than Live For Speed (provided explicitly for testing purposes) require a licensed version of SimTools, be it V2 or V3.

    I also have a question about this.

    I bought a SimTools Professional License yesterday, got my rig moving around in testing and I want to run BeamNG drive. SimTools doesn't seem to have a plugin for that. I tried to buy coins here but the website won't take a Discover card.

    What are my options?

    -thanks for this, this actually kinda clarified it for me on how this works (I think). It is kinda confusing overall. but maybe I am just not fully understanding the changes that were made over time, as I am just starting with Motions Sims and thusly this forum new. I will learn.

    I have a valid Simtools V2 license that is installed, I just renewed my access to the plugins in the $59 Premium version, however when using the same SimTools V3 license, it says there are no more activations for this license, I will have to buy a new one license?

    It could be because the V2 is still active, so you may have to take it out first, as it will otherwise think that you want to use the same key twice. But check with the devs for sure
