    Hi,
i have just bought a 6dof motion platform with 6x1.2kw servos without controller. My main interest now would be to get it moving mainly with DCS and MSFS2020

Can you please post a picture of the controller model stickers, so we know exactly what the servos are.

Allmost all servo drives have a step/dir interface. Try to find a manual to find out the connector pin assignment and how to set the parameters to configure the in and outputs.

BTW, I have a controller to sell. Check the marketplace

The 7th axis with the big gear ring on top is for yaw? Interesting... Was this hexapod built for a special sort of crane or handling/positioning? For simulation alone the small yaw angle of around 30° a hexapod can do on it's own is normally sufficient.

    hello,
I bought it as it is. It was used for some plane simulator. I have already removed the 7th axis.

Ok, a quick google search returned a link to this manual. So the drives have pulse/direction input. It should be no problem to connect this to a new controller like Thanos or Motion4Sim.

Don't throw away the old controller and the cables to early. Maybe you can reverse-engineer how they controlled the servos. If they also used the pulse/dir input you can run the servos like they are. If they used some weired communication protocol with the RS485 connectors the drive also supports it might get a bit more complicated as you then have to change the parameter settings of the drives.

Please check if pins 7, 8 and 11, 12 of CN2 were connected. These are the pulse and direction inputs.

Edit: I just saw there are extra pins: 16,17 and 23,24 are the alternate (high speed) pulse/direction inputs.

Sad to report, that the rig was sold without controller. But I am pretty sure they used step/dir motion control.
Which controller would be the best?

Good question. The Thanos and Motion4Sim look nearly identical. I don't know who copied from whom. I've tested the M4S and I know it works. I had some issues with vibrations but those shopuld be fixed with the latest firmware. Are you in the USA or Europe?

Perfect, shipping to slovakia should be no problem and no trouble with customs either. You can check my offer at the marketplace. This is the manufacturer. Documentation and firmware on GITHUB.
