Does anyone have a 6dof DCS world preset i can try.. i am getting jerky movements enough to nearly throw my back out :)

I have tried smoothing and a little bit of deadzone to try and make it better but i am still only learning this.

Is that a Stewart platform that you have? I'm a newbie, too, and would be very much interested in a preset to help against some very jerky movements. However, I quickly learned to fly much more smoothly and "civilian" than before, but gave up dogfights completely...:(

Yes it is.. I still have not fully found a smooth calibration set in simtools yet but I may play around with it this weekend.
    I will let you know

Have you looked at the tuning center?
Maybe the setting are not quite right for your sim?
    Take care,

Yep Yobuddy , i have tried to play with the tuning centre a bit .. it seems that when i try and pitch up and down the sim tries to spasm causing me to do extra movements on my flight stick , but i have not been able to check this as i am still trying to work out the motion cancellation so i will give it a go this weekend sometime hopefully

How are you setting up the axis assignments?
Maybe PM me with your settings and I can see if I can help buddy.
    Take care,

Funny, Denus304, with the Vive Pro I can initialize a stable motion compensation almost every time (with some mysterious exceptions, like yesterday), but I have still unsolved problems to get motion compensation to work with the HP Reverb. Maybe I can help you by telling how I do it:
I use a Vive tracker v2 as reference and have it attached behind my headrest.
I use one Vive wand to operate OVRIE from within VR.
The two lighthouses v1 are placed sideways of my seat so that BOTH cover the HMD and the tracker (this is not a necessatiy, but may help). Make sure the lighthouses are at least 100cm away from tracker and Pro.
I start SteamVR and (mostly) follow a recommendation to go thru steamvr_room_setup before anything else.
In OVRIE I choose the tracker as "device", motion compensation as "mode" and "zero" in compensation setting. The last click is "apply".
In 9 out of 10 cases I'm done. If not I usually restart the system...
    Hope this helps.

Can someone post their DCS preset values for axes and other values? Perhaps, screen shots posted on the forum? Thanks !

I'm also very disappointed with the results in DCS with SimTools and Prosimu 6 DOF (P7MP). The default presets don't work, inverted, jerky... unlike MSFS. I wish the presets would decent instead of spending many hours, trying to figure it.

Can you please post pictures of your settings.

Presets, for commercial rigs, should ideally be supplied by the manufacturer for their known hardware, but members can likely help out if we know what settings you are using and how your rig responds, as it is likely a configuration issue, rather than SimTools fault.

    Hi
    Hi Noorbeast,

Here are the default settings for DCS from ProSimu P7MP (6 Actuators). Unfortunately, they feel far from optimized... Plus the mix/max road/flying swtich icon doesn't get save when choose I fly/cloud.

I even tried to capture the settings but the movements are still "steppy/jerky" vs being smooth.

Thanks in advance for the tips.

I know it may sound like a pain, but if a manufacturer does not provide a great motion profile for their own hardware then you are going to have to refine one yourself.

First off, while written in the SimTools v2 days the FAQ tips for refining a motion profile for v3 are pretty much the same, though some of the interface has changed in v3, with some added refinements: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/steps-to-create-a-motion-profile.228/

Understand the basics, that axis assignment splits 100% of the available axis to various shared axis allocation, though in a flight sim you can go over 100% total allocations as it is very unlikely all axis will be at their max at the same time, other than in a crash.

With the Min/Max, the higher the value the smoother the SimTools response, over a greater range of axis movement. Conversely, the smaller the value the faster the response, but over a smaller axis range.

Take note that as SimTools mixes setting on the fly it is best to initially refine one axis at a time, so you are not setting up false cues. Do that for each axis and refine them before enabling all axis at the same time, so you know you have a sound foundation.

Start with pitch and roll and do yaw and sway last, as the latter are more of a refinement.

Similarly initially don't use filters, think of those as final tweaks to an otherwise fully sorted motion profile.

Where you have a dedicated axis, such as yaw on your rig, you can allocate 100% to that axis, unless there is vulnerable hardware, like the SCN actuators.

Once you do nail a good DCS motion profile you can share the love with others who own the same rig: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/simtools-v3-public-beta.17329/page-99#post-251622

@noorbeast Since changing all the Axis Assignment values to equal 100% now the motion if FINALLY smooth. Why would ProSimu suggest crazy default values like 300? Especially since they require SimTools? Why would they not know any better or ever try their own crazy settings?

Also, is there a reason I can't save the road/sky option properly? I keep changing to "sky" and it always comes back as "road".

I can't really comment on what a corporate entity chooses to do or not do, but SimTools does make it possible to share settings with others who have the same hardware/rig.
SimTools v3 is still in RC Beta testing, so I will defer to @yobuddy for dev advice re road/sky option saving issues.
