Hello everyone, I have a serious problem with my simulator. Today I installed a new USB card with CH340, I installed the driver correctly, Windows detects the COM4 port perfectly, I open the file "SMC3Utils v1.01" I write COM4.
I start SMC3Utils, Windows opens a Firewall window to allow use and I accept, the screen appears but it tells me that it is impossible to establish a connection and it crashes.

    TESTS PERFORMED
Windows 10, CH340 USB card (OK)
Windows 10, FT232 USB card (OK)
Windows 11, FT232 USB card (OK)
Windows 11, CH340 USB card (PROBLEM)

What is the cause of the problem?
How can I solve the problem?
I absolutely have to solve the problem, I need to be able to use both Windows 10 and Windows 11 with the CH340 USB card.
    I await your answers, thanks

A quick search seems to indicate that the driver may not yet be tested on Win11, hence that would be my guess: https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/how-to-install-ch340-drivers/all

In "device manager" the CH340 com is detected, then Win11 works, sees it installed, the driver works. I'm sure the problem is in SMC3Utils 1.01, which fails to communicate with Win11. Furthermore, SMC3utils was created about 9 years ago when WIN11 did not exist, so it is easy to think that it is obsolete and that the new version needs to be redone. Does anyone know if there is already a new version?

SMC3Utils 1.01 works fine for me on Windows 11. I am away from home but my recollection is that it is a CH340. Maybe compare device driver versions. Can you connect and download with Arduino IDE? Does it work for SimTools 3.0?

Is it possible to do the tuning with a different PC that works? Unless you are doing port forwarding with it it’s not really required to run the simulator. As long as SimTools can communicate you should be good.

What do you mean by USB card? Hub in your pc?

If W11 would be the problem then lots of people would have this problem years ago when it came out.

Also SMC3Utils 1.01 can't be the problem if you ask me unless you changed the program itself.

The problem has been solved, it was a CH340 driver update problem. Thanks to all
