I was searching for the best place to buy Hall effect sensor.
I came here to this forum and make some search "Hall Effect", "potentiometer"...
I could not find what I had seen before.
When I first came here and found interesting information going from one post to another and not taking notes.
There is so mush post with so mush page to look at.
I am not complaining, just trying to explain.

So I am doing this post to gather the information about Hall effect.

    Definition, description :

Hall-effect sensors. Hall-effect rotary position sensors define an object’s angular location by measuring differences in the voltage of magnetic fields. These non-contact sensors monitor shifts in the magnetic field and resulting output voltage changes to determine angular displacement in the Hall element, a magnet, and a turning axis. In this way, the sensors identify the angular position of equipment or systems.

The different part number, the models...

6127V1A180L.5 = 180 degre of measure and round shaft
6127V1A180L.5FS = 180 degre of measure and a flat surface shaft
6127V1A360L.5 = 360 degre of reading angle and round shaft
6127V1A360L.5FS = 360 degre of measure and a flat surface shaft
These are all TT Electronics Industrial Motion & Position Sensors

Hall effect are use in the automobile industrie as :
    Could those be good replacement?

    Electronic power steering position sensors
    Transmission Shift position sensors
    Camshaft position sensors
    Crankshaft position sensors
    Pedal position sensors
    Throttle position sensors

    Where did you buy your?

    I am in Canada, Quebec.
It seem there is no distributer, that keep Hall Effect in stock.
There are all import, with custom duty fees!
Finally i found that the Mouser companies would ship for free with include duty fees.
    I have paid 27,60 $can each (where 1 can$ = 69 US$).

So, that my story, what your?

I like theese from TT Electronics. They are available in many different angle ranges from +/-45 degrees to 360°. This avoids the need for a gear in almost all cases.
