I have the idea that I am thinking about, and would like some opinions on how far off I am from reality. Since I'm completely new to this, i need some feedback.

    1) an acrylic sheet 36x64x.25 attached to a T-shaped frame that makes the screen hold a curve so that the ends are ~12 forward of the center (the frame is designed to adjust the curve to whatever I want)
    2) spray the back flat black
    3) spray the front using Behr 770E-2 screen paint
    4) use a single Viewsonic Pro 8300 projector ~ 9' in front of the screen with Elise-ng warping s/w to adjust the picture
    5) hope like hell it works :)

    So, what do you think?

I have changed the projector to a ViewSonic PJD7583wi DLP Projector 3000 Lumens SHORT THROW, which has been ordered, and a wall mount that puts the projector (also ordered) about 3 feet in front of the screen. The T-frame is now a board with three aluminum box tubes attached with L shaped brackets and attached to the screen at the center and the edges. to take care of the bending.

I looked at Elise, and plan on using it, too.

I'll send updates as I get everything in one place before starting assembly.

    Thanks,

A couple of changes have been made to my plans:

    1) I will now use Black Widow paint, which is a mixture of a True Value Winter Mist paint and Henry 558 aluminum roof paint (Goggle Black Widow paint for info)
    2) The plastic sheet will be primed with Kilz2 primer
    3) I have the projector, the mount, paint, and nuts/bolts/screws

I need a 3/4 thick plywood board 66 x 18, the 64 x 36 plastic sheet, and 4 table legs, all of which I have located and have prices for.

If my calculations are correct, I should end up with my eyes 24 in front of the screen's center and almost centered vertically, and the projector 2' 8 front of the screen and 30 above my head. Giving me ~100-110 degree VOF.

I have some re-arranging to do in the computer room before I can start assembly, which will involve some spousal negotiations.

    More later I hope,
