    Cheers @yobuddy ,
@Blizzard1 , either motor will work with the 12v12 JRK and yes you need one board per motor.

Plenty of people use those motors and similar with great success.
Stepper motors need a different controller and as far as I know, there is no setup for these yet.
The JRK is tough , reliable and handles 13.8v at 30 amps continuous with heatsink and fan cooling.

Did you have a particular design for a sim frame in mind?

    Hi bsft, eaorobbie and yobuddy,

yes, I'm in the planning of all components. It's a kind of brain storming. The size of the motion platform should be about 3m x 3m, in order to place my 737NG home cockpit.
The load-bearing capacity should be about 500-600kg.
I think the platform are similar like this one http://motionforsimulators.com/galleries/photos/motion-systems/
In the attachment you can see a photo of my cockpit in constraction.

Are there a finished Ardunio board? Maybe, it would be very nice of you to post me a blockdiagram, if possible with the EMIS motor SM-2863-5155E.
I'm not sure, but maybe the gear motor, suggested from yobuddy, could be a little bit to weak in relation to my planned project, isn't it.

Thank you for your help all together!

    Rolf

Yes the 12v worm gear motors will not do it. 12v boat winch motors will rated at 900kg or 2000lbs.The frames motors in the link are 240v.
I cannot see which photo you are referring to.

The photo(s) I'm referring are 8/45, 13/45 and 10/45. I think they use an equipment named Lexium 32.

A former member called @AldoZ , whom we have not hear from for ages, did a similar thing with JRKS and 12v boat winch motors about 2-3 years ago. The sim is still going as far as I know, but it did work with 12v.
If you are getting 240v stuff, ard and converter and things are the go.

Wow you wont move that kind of weight with 12v mate, sorry, look into 240v control, which is being discussed actively here at the moment, @abdo_tahan the man that needs to have a read here. Sound like this little project could be right for him to comment.
This is his post might be a better starting point for your application.

I thought you would be best to answer mate, My sims are normally light weight units, this looks like it will be a beauty. Thanks for popping in.

Ok, thank you to all again!

I'll have a look at the links and hope to find a suitable solution.

I've one more question. I found this microcotroller unit, suitable to the stepper motor EMIS SM-2863-5155E. http://www.emisgmbh.de/smcflex.htm
It's a modular system and they deliver strong parts to drive the motor, too.
Are there onybody, how are able to say, whether the Sim Tools_v1.1(for X-Plane) could be compatible to this microcontroler from EFIS?

    Many thanks in advance!

Sorry all the documentation is in German, Looks to me it contains a usb port that can be used to set a position to the X or Y or Z steppers as a position, and works in ASCII too.
If we had a little more information on how to send commands to this card via a terminal window, and works, it has good possibilities of maybe working in SimTools.
Need a little more info on commands and the protocol needed to communicate with it.
Sorry I cant read German and google translate wont translate the pdf file , bummer.
