    I tried your suggestion @RacingMat and came out with some promising videos.

    Now I did notice that if I put the pots center wire into either a4 or a5 I get the same response. Could this mean there is a unwanted open circuit between the two?

    Hi, have you tried the same tests suggested by RacingMat using the other pot? Based on all videos I still think the second pot is either damaged or not wired correctly. In particular I think the wiper pin of the pot is open circuit.

    From the latest videos I would say both the Arduino and the H-Bridge are OK.

    The reason both motors seem to be driven by one pot is because the "other" analog input on the Arduino (ie the other pot input) is not connected and there is enough crosstalk on the board for the Arduino to pickup the signal from the other pot.

    And I can assume that cross talk is a bad thing? How do i fix the issue? should I see if there is cross talk across all the channels?

    Second video is a run though of the channels

    No cross talk isn't necessarily a problem... It just means if you do these tests with just one pot connected at a time you are 'likely' to see both motors get driven.

    From everything I am seeing in the latest videos everything seems to be working properly now. What happened to the pot that wasn't working? Have you done these tests with "just that pot" to confirm it was faulty?

    As RacingMat said, you need to be very methodical, testing each part independently.

    Thanks RufusDufus for your explanations!

    From what I understood, the conclusion could be:
    as your 2nd pot is faulty, there no signal to second pin
    because of no signal, the pin is "taking" the signal from next pin ("cross talk") -> hence both motors are driven...

    So, buy an extra pot (or two) and just redod the first trial with 2 pots and 2 motors, and that should be good! no?

    Okay, I re-created the same situation as yours:
    if there is only one pot connected, the motomonster drives the two motors together (same ligths on both sides!)

    so, your initial problem was your faulty pot, sir! from the beginning...

    I wish to see your setup working fine soon ;-)

    As I said if its a rainy day I am getting back to work. And its raining :)

    So I took some time to rewire things and shoot some more vids

    I separated the wirers as @RufusDufus suggested. and made sure the boards were apart (thanks @eaorobbie ).
    I went through everything one at a time, thanks to @RacingMat and for his code.

    So here is what happened.

    then with both "controll wires" hooked up

    then changed some wires.

    pin 4 => pin 2 m1inA
    pin 5 => pin 9 m1 pwm
    pin 6 => pin 10 m2 pwm
    pin 7 => pin 7 m2inA
    pin 8 => pin 4 m1inB --->moved to pin 9<---
    pin 9 => pin 8 m2inB --->moved to pin 8<---

    5v => 5v
    GND => GND

    POTm1 => A4
    POTm2 => A5

    My question now is.......

    Since I have no true vlue as to what the moters are suppose to do,, which of the contections are correct? video 2 or video 3? I assume 3.

    Now that this might be figured out. How do I set the simtools engine?
    my COM port is
    COM6
    115200 b/sec ,8 , none, 1,
    (flow control l) hardware

    I have been trying to use the virtual output to test. But know results

    Here is a picture of what I have.
    tools settings.jpg

    so whats next?

    YAh. then problem 1 solved.
    Next I guess is the simtools engine set up?
    Can I use the output testing to test it?
    I tryed your presets but i am not sure what to expect.

    Do you have already read the quick starting guides and all detailed documentation? This should help you to buil your own setup from scratch...

    But preset is a good way to have quick results ;-)

    Thanks for sharing the video with us and congratulations! Its true people that don’t have a clue how to do this, like many new members lol (no offense :)), are amazed this is even possible. Myself included a few years back! Great starting rig there! If you really catch the sim building bug, you will probably start thinking of ways to make it better and better, especially now that you can actually feel the response from it, which helps you to know where to focus on improvements. But that’s all part of the fun! Welcome to the club! :cheers
