    Hello xsimers.....

My project was inspired by Kevin123's schematic which I came across at x-sim several years ago. Finally, I decided to pick up my tools and start building my 2DOF TIGERSEAT. I m having lots of problem with the control board.
I would like to replace my K8055 board to Arduino UNO board + 2x12v sabertooth so that I could use simtool software.
I have read alot about people using Arduino for 2DOF to 4DOF from this forum, I'm not a programmer and I would love to learn from you experts.
As you can see, I had tried using xsim softwares to get my sim to work but I keep breaking my pots. I couldn't setup the max and min limits of my pots. I m missing something!
I m hoping to get some help from you guys in terms of wiring (schematic to hook up Arduino Uno to Sabertooth 2x12v), Arduino Codes and step by step setting up my SIM.

    Thank you all in advance.

    Thanks earobbie,

Good to hear that K8055 is being consider! At the same time i m doing alot of reserch on Arduino Uno Board + 2x12v sabertooth. Got alot of help from RacingMat but am still working on the pots Attachment. I m totally new at either K8055 nor Arduino board. I have to say its not as easy as everyone said or may be I m just not too bright....:( Lol.

This will take a little time and will only support 2dof but cross my fingers can sort a full PID option as I don't want to repeat xsim lousy interface and maybe in time I can set multiply card use so 3x K8055 equal 6DOF, even 240v control is feasible as output can run upto 50v but not many amps, enough to switch 240v VFD's, I have seen on some other none sim projects.

use @prilad or @RufusDufus codes instead, they work better

    Hi bsft and eaorobbie,

I looked at prilad and rufusdufus's forum, they don't use the same h bridge like mine... Does it (code) still work tho?

Ah not sure if either had it working for the sabertooth.
Did you buy a K8055, I do have a test app that needs checking by a beta tester then I can implement their use for SimTools.
Until I get this tested I can not move on further to support the K8055.
App has been released to test. Exactly what your looking for, if not please change the title of the thread by editing your first post, cheers.

I do have a k8055 board. I originally aiming for Kevin's setup... However I find xsim is very hard to use. I can swap my k8055 back if you can guide me thru the setup, or you like me to be beta tester.

I m looking for either cards to work so I can start driving.... Lol...I m desperate.

    Hello eaorobbie,

I tested your beta software, and here is what I found,

    1. With pot reading 127 in the Motor 1 Setup area. :thumbs
    2. Power on the sabertooth, if I got it right(cross me fingers) the motor should not rotate as it is disabled. :thumbs
    3. Check Enable Motor 1 - and the DAC used should be 127 at pot position 0 and Direction should read "Stopped":thumbs
    4. Now by rotating the pot cw the motor should spin ccw :thumbs
    5. Now by rotating the pot ccw the motor should spin cw till the pot is 0 in the real position the and the motor should stop.:thumbs
    6. Now by rotating the pot further ccw the motor should spin cw:confused:
it did not spin cw direction......it kept spinning ccw direction

So now I stopped at this stage waiting for advise!!!

the arduino+sabertooth code is fine and @cyberxu managed to make the motors move (despite his lack of coding knowledge ;)) : @cyberxu, please open a separate thread to share this other trial that you lead simultaneously :)

    Hello @ cyberxu

First of all, thank you that you are helping to test the application that created @ eaorobbie to make it compatible with the K8055 simtools and I congratulate you for your lavoro:thumbs.Volevo give you some advice, do not throw away money with Arduino, if you already have a K8055 and sabertooh .... I use it for about 2 years and I have never had problems indeed works perfettamente.Anche happened to me  and initially romprere some potentiometers and the same thing happened to many .... then after I've created mechanical block to the levers of the engines and then just rotture.Comunque the main problem is that if you reset the pc or x-sim goes haywire engines run without stopping ..... and without mechanical locks or without switches limit potentiometers break ... This problem with the application of eaorobbie not make you more! and you may have noticed too that if you close the test without the application of the K8055 is being stop.Detto this ... my only advice since you already have the hardware that works great and soon you can use simtools not to throw away money for nothing .... then everyone does as he wants;)

    greetings
    Kevin
