If you want to order pcbs at fair prices, then write Heinz an email to info@platinenbelichter.de.
His english skills are very basic, so please prevent to write long and difficult sentences. I talked to him, and offered him to help, if he gets some probs with understanding your emails

Your email just has to contain:

    - layout (he accepts proffessional formats, pdf and even bmp files!)
(If your layout is in bmp format, it is neccessary to specify the overall dimensions)
    - the extra options:

    drilled (gebohrt),
    tinned (verzinnt),
    varnish (Lötlack)

-and your name and adress of course.

You'll get an estimate immediatly. Then pay the sum via paypal to info@platinenbelichter.de if you are agree.

The price including drills, tinning and international shipping should be approx 20-25Euro/pcb depending the size and number of drills.
He has a bank wire transfer number as well of course, but the fees would be too high. You should prefer paypal. And its way faster than wire transfer!

    regards

I think that's what you need. He accepts paypal as well, if you add the paypal fee to the transaction.

PLEASE CONSIDER THAT HEINZ' ENGLISH SKILLS ARE VERY VERY BASIC!

    Someone sent him this email:

I am not interested to know who is the author of this email. I just posted it here as a bad example!

In the starting post I have explained what your email has to contain. Once again:

    - initial Hello Heinz, please make me an offer for the attached layout(s)
    1x XXXXX.pdf
    3x yyyyyy.pdf
    etc.
    - the extra options:
    drilled (gebohrt) yes/no
    tinned (verzinnt) yes/no
    varnish (Lötlack) yes/no
    - and your name and adress of course.
    - Thanks and regards
    - attach layout the file(s) to your email!

Not less, and not more, cause he wont understand if you'll write long sentences!
As you can see, mostly headwords are used. Clean and easy to understand.

Neither he does host any X-Sim pcb layouts, nor he does know which is the layout you need!

If you want him to etch something for you, then send him the layout file!

If you are unsure about which layout version is the one that fits best your requirements, then ask the layout designer, or ask me. But dont overburden Heinz to deal with ammounts of text he cannot understand!

    Thanks
    Christian

Btw, in case you dont know. Heinz does not charge you for the number of pcbs, but for the used raw material. There is a list of raw material sizes on his homepage. This means that 2 pcbs or more, depending its size, may be in some cases available for the same price as a single one, when their overall size is the same. Of course the additional drillings for additional pcbs have to be considered as well, but I think you wont get pcbs cheaper as from Heinz.
I have translated his homepage today, it may be worth to visit it in the next days, to learn something about the extra options etc.

    i have to hold my hand up and say sorry egopress, that was my e-mail .. i was a little too excited to find a resonable source for the PCB, and made made some assumptions for that i will appologise to all concerned .. :uups: should have been more specific and kept it simple. i sent that e-mail from another machine but could not remember the guide instructions you have already posted .. it really was an honest mistake. i'll send an e-mail to the guy in the correct format with my requirements as you have sugested and hopefully we can still do bussines....
it was not my intention to create problems i was just too eager to get my project moving so that i could have something to show you guys for all the tech help i found on this website .. :D

I ran across this company and bought a board off the site for a different project. Anyone interested in putting their development boards on site, so distribution could be eased for new projects??

Reminds me of the cafepress site.

I ordered mine from http://futurlec.com/ It took some weeks. I ordered two of amc-pcb and two of dSMHB. Price for all four was 30 usd. They ship worldvide at relatively cheap shipping cost. Also ordered most of the parts there. I am not qualified to tell about the quality, but they work for me.
I just emailed them the pdf-documents, and the parts fitted well

There are many PCB suppliers nowadays. The prices vary mostly due to labor cost, time and quality. For same quality, I have found that the prices differ up to 5 times and this mostly contribute to the labor cost. Usually the Asian companies have very competetive prices than their European and North American counterparts. When a PCB is made in Asia, its quality could also be similar to that of North American or European. Additionally, their services cost lesser than that of North American and European companies. Just a heads-up: its not recommened for the people who need their PCBs in couple of days.
