    I do not feel good with a potentiometer, especially the lifetime, as I can imagine the contacts are gone real fast as the back and forth motions.After a quick Google I am happy to share what I learned, and it seems to work so well up to now. I love this system because the 'contactless mechanism' hope will last much longer and less drifting quality issues.

    I am using AS5600 High Precision Magnetic Encoder.

    $15 for 6 pcs (I built a 6dof stewart platform using an SMC3 Arduino).
    Very important: Remove the R1 and R4 when using the 5v Arduino (ie Uno) board and using it as analog 0-5v input.
