    Axis = engines
    DOF = motion axis

    A 2dof is a simulator with two axes (longitudinal and lateral) movement and usually two engines.

    Axis = motores
    Dof = eje de movimiento

    Un 2dof es un simulador con dos ejes de movimiento (longitudinal y lateral )normalmente dos motores.

    You can have a 2DOF where there are 2 Axis defined in the Interface Settings of SimTools. However, you can simulate additional axis and forces in Axis Assignments as long as the total percentage allocation is around 100%, or perhaps slightly over.

    While it may be a 2DOF you could have sway, surge, heave, pitch and roll allocations in the Axis Assignments and SimTools will blend the results. It takes some time to work through a procedure where you get one axis or force sorted by itself and then turn them all on and tweak further when each is correct.

    Basically you start with sway, allocate 20% in the Axis Assignments, run the game, tweak the Axis Allocation and Tuning Center values until it feels right, then turn that off and do surge next.

    The process is repeated for each of the forces you intend using. When they are all done and turned on you tweak the Tuning Center for a good balance and then you can create car/track/plane specific profiles in Game Manager.

    A good pace to build your understanding is the SimTools documentation: http://www.xsimulator.net/simtools-complete-documentation/
