    My Motion Simulator:
    2DOF
Hi everybody, the last 48 hours i've been reading this entire website looking for ways to make the flight simulator that i built using vive and some old controllers work in motion, so i decided to build a 2dof.

I'm really new to all of this, i am very thankful for any help that you guys can give me.

    So, let's begin :

I had here at home an old treadmill , so i disassembled it :
    esteira.jpg

I found this motor inside, but i think i cannot use this, because it do not have gear reduction box :

This is how the treadmill look disassembled :

This black piece is a very strong wood used inside the treadmill, i think i can use it later.

I saw the base of the treadmill ( The white part in the right) as a good base for the 2dof, but i have to weld a iron bar in the middle of it to weld the car gimbal in it.

I put a plaster bar i had here at home just to give me some notion of how its going to be :

    - First option :

Iron bar ( that i use a plaster bar just to see the model) in the middle, so i can weld the car gimbal in the middle and weld directly in the chair.

    - Second option :

2 iron bars crossing, just like @RacingMat model.

To the chair i found an old one here in my home :

I'm going to change the cloth to a new one.

So, these are the things i'm going to do for the project :
    - Buy used trucked wiper motors
    - Buy car gimbal
    - Weld the iron bars

What do you guys think ? I'm very thankful for any help =)

Can I please clarify your intended design, is it to be a shoulder mount, compact, foot mount or some other design variant?

A sketch of your intended design is always helpful.

I think i cannot use this old treadmill, i think im going to ask someone to weld this structure for me.

@D Lima : good project! you will learn a lot and have a lot of fun as well :)

yes, this design is "shoulder mounted"

no indeed, your motor is not convenient (4700 RPM is toooooooo fast!)

If you don't know how to weld, you could bolt the structure... but this will require some reinforcements in the corners to prevent angulation
