I just finished my first working version of my 2DOF motion seat, now it’s time to share some pictures.

I’ve been strongly inspired by Wanegain’s project and the french forum PCSHM for calculations and geometry rules.

The original base (seat + wheel stand) was bought few years ago from FK automotive for less than 130 euros.

It’s not yet finalized, I still have to improve robustness and make finishing works. Fortunately I have a dedicated room in my basement so it’s OK with raw cables and unpainted wood.

    Now the construction steps :

my mockup with all the electronics. This was to program the arduino board and the sabertooth, and also check rotation and limits.

The shaft is home made and motors are connected and 300mm from it.

With everything in place, we have :

arduino micro / sabertooth power board / power supply / clamps resistors.

    2_proto_9.jpg
Motor arm is 45mm between axles with 150° rotation.
This makes 8 or 9 degrees for the seat angle.
