    My Motion Simulator:
    2DOF
    Hello Friends.

I'm comming from xsim and i in process of update my old 2DOF to a Simtools 2DOF+TL , so i'm going to submit my sim in this thread. Thanks to old friends who introduce to me to this world and the newer friends who can help me for sure. With respect to the previous simulator, i have two mayor odds: a 3Dprinter and childrens three years olders;)

I will go part by part, so my intention is go editing the thread until finish the sim.

My purpose is make a 2DOF + TL. I'm going to use the SMC3 Arduino 3DOF interface, so i can reutilize mayor electrónic components and cabling.

    1.- Electronics.
All the electronics is assembled in a old Shuttle PC Case. Is composed by 2x Arduinos (1 older, not used), 2x Motomonster (with radiators), 1x PSU Artesyn 12V 56A (old IBM xserver PSU), a regulator to get 5V from +12V PSU and inside the cabinet is the Logitech G25 ACDC adapter, so i can switch ON/OFF in the cabinet. All "perfect" packaged.

Also i have a car amp to feed 4x Bass Shakers. This is a standard car amp, one channel feed 2 shakers below the seat, the other channel feed one shaker below the pedals and another one behind the seat.

    I have 4 switchs to ON/OFF these:
    • General: Power +12V PSU and Logitech G25
    • Electronics: Power +5V Arduinos and Motomonsters
    • Motors: Power 12V Rails for motors and Motomonsters
    • Vibration: Power the car amp / shakers

The cabling to the motors/external components have XT connectors, so i can detach all cabinet to work offside the sim.

    ------
    [TO BE CONTINUED]

Remember: this thread will be edited with upgrades.

    Thanks for look my sim!!!

    2. 2DOF Motors and rods

My 2DOF Motors are two italian 12V/24V ELBI Motors that operates garaje doors.
To get the motor feedback, i design basically two 3D parts. One that atach two magnets to center axis of the motor and other part to put a hall sensor inside the magnets that get the motor position. Also, i put two screws to adjust the motor position while playing with the SMC3 utility.

The rods are 3D Printed too. Are 100% solid PLA, and i sincerely i don't know how long they will last. For better adjustment to motor axis and minimize slack, i introduced two aluminium plates inside the axis holes.

    My Motion Simulator:
    2DOF
    3. Wheel, joystick and keyboard.
The sim have three principal controls:
An old Logitech G25, modded with a "inverted" TM1638 and buttons (arduino based) with "Carbon look". The pedals was dissasembled from the original plastic and screwed in a methacrylate plate. This plate has one shaker to have vibration under the pedals. Is possible that in near future, i modded the pedals with any kind of hall sensor modification.

The second control is a Saitek X52 Pro because i want to try some space and flight sims. I buyed it recently (second hand) so, at this moment, i only install the drivers to confirmate the proper functioning.

As a keyboard, i have a BT PS3 Keyboard. The plus for me is that keyboard has a trackpoint (similar to ibm/lenovo that i love)

    4. Simulator and structure
The sim is contructed basically with aluminium from rests of office screens and assembled with 8mm screws. The cardan is recovered from and old car (i don't know the exact origin) but is very hard. Some parts are methacrylate (Baquet support. keyboard support, pedals support, ...) and i made some 3D parts to eliminate hard corners.

The pedals are in a rail, so i can extend and shrink these to save space
The backet is a fiberglass Cobra Imola 2 )(very light) with a 4 point Sabelt Harness...

And this is the final result

I only left the Tractor Control. Is because i have a problem with the motor, but when the problem was resolved, i will update the thread.

    Thanks to all for looking!!!!
