Has anyone used a 32" HDMI 720P TV set as a monitor? Good or bad result?

I have used a 38" TV on my previous sim, it works great as long as you don't have the expectations of a hard core gaming fanatic.

Yes, I have 32" tvs on dual racers, running at 1280 x 720 res with all other AA settings high.
one on VGA, the other HDMI
Looks great. no real noticeable frame rate drop
My personal ride 1080 res. HDMI
All 50hz tvs, they do the job well.
A good graphics card is recommended though.
    I found a GT 650 was lousy compared to a GTX560ti

    Thanks guys,

The one I have is 720. I gave it a try and saw some lagging. My monitor is a 24" and works great. I tried it with GTR2 and it didn't impress me too much. O will play a bit with settings to see what I get.
My video card is a Gigabyte GTX 750,

Your satisfaction or otherwise @Hmaia will be directly proportional to your expectations Vs practicality. A TV won't match a good computer monitor but is good enough for many who do not have expectations that it will.

Agreed, my 2ms 24" monitor far outperforms my 32" tv, but a 24" is too small for my simulator. I have v-sync locked atg 60 FPS, or 50 FPS, what ever the hell the tv actually puts out. My main tv is 6.5ms apparently and looks just fine to me.
Choice is up to you, unless you can afford a 4k TV, take what you can use.

GTR2 is not exactly nerd inspiring graphics as it is old game. Heck, Grid Autosport on 1280 x 720 looks better than GTR2. Also with TVs, I found you may have to fiddle with the graphic settings of the games to reduce lag. I know I had to fiddle with AA and some other setting sin game on the el cheapo tv.

Using a TV HDMI connection is a must for me or graphics are too poor with std vga connection.
I use cheap 32" Full HD TV on sim.

VGA doesnt usually support more than 1280 x 720 yes, HDMI better , but one of my dual racer TVs hasnt got a working HDMI so VGA it is, but as said, a few graphics settings tweeking and it looks good at that res.
Beggars cannot be choosers, well not this beggar anyway.

My "37'" is a 120hz (60, but with my 770 Classified, I can get 120 hz) - I run it at native res. of 1920 x 1080. For old eyes, this rascal does a very good job for me.

I set Vsync to on, triple buffering to of and I totally changed my experience. GTR2 has poor graphics, but is now looking a lot better, and Rfactor is looking nice. I have Rfactor2, but build 906 is not working for m. Terrible stuttering and tearing. This actually started with build 880 but now is bad.

theres a LOT of 32" tvs out there. I have 3 different brands on 3 sims and I had to fiddle with graphic settings in game to get any of them to look right, that includes v-sync on as well.
Generally yes, it looks like an elcheapo tv will do it. Most of the time the game will look good, but you need to spend time working with graphics settings in game.

Imo you want to stay away from 720p Tv's 1080p would be minimum. Sheer resolution reason's. Current games including your desktop will look SUPER MEGA Jumbo sized on a 720 TV.

Also VGA can and will support Higher than 1080 x 720

Agreed that VGA can go higher, I suspect because my TVs are cheap and a few years old, its probably why one on them doesn't go higher than 1280 x 720, but hey, the dual racer people dont notice.
