There is a section called Wanted: 3D drawings that was not translated yet. Not sure if this is to go over to the new site or can be integrated somehow..but here it is in english.

Note I tried my best using babblefish, then reading, then changing. It probably is a good start, but needs a good looking over. The parts that are left in German or that was badly translated from german from the babblefish tool is noted in ???? before and ???? after. I am not sure how to translate what is being said.

Feel free to use/correct this if can....figured I would help out since I was reading it anyway. Alot of other information is on the wiki and seems to be translated really well but maybe a few tweaks. I will get where I can, but this did not seem to be on the wiki as well as a few other topics that are in the 2.0 manual. I am sure it is all on the way thanks to the efforts of raceray.

hope this helps in some way.

    Wanted: 3D drawings / 3D drawings section

After first release of the 3D visualization. We would like to promote the submission of CAD drawings of simulator designs by fellow members. As you know, x-sim is a CROSS simulator for use with many different simulator configurations that a user may wish to create.

???Now to the one it looks genuinly super, if one of its simulator three-dimensional data in Action sees, on the other hand it can be used to see the simulator’s movements and examine the paired profile before moving on and thus improving it before construction. Straight ones with *Vermotion* of films one can specify already times the basic directions correctly. ???

Usually, simulators are quite loud and can not continuously be operated long enough to test effectively, so the required preliminary work needs to be done over long periods at night or spilled over into the next day. ?? not the hours of the usability too vertrödeln. ?? The RnR 3D representation ???supplies a small foretaste. ???

By designing in CAD, one can export their cad drawing to vrml 1.0 files so that others can exchange or use a translation program to convert into their required CAD file.

For example, if someone needs a seat improved, they could announce to the forum and forum of small group to improve a crucial component. One only needs to make a sketch of the change and note all lengths and ???tries then these as uncomplicatedly as possible with right parallelepipeds or similar in a 3D program einzufrickeln. ???

Whether one builds an armchair design or a 6 DOF is not important, what is important is to have many individual designs that can be shared.

One example of a free 3D program that can be used is Blender.

    http://www.blender.org/

However there the opinions one needs to go over to make sure the compatibility does not fail when saving in the new format for sharing.

    Another good program is TurboCad.

With a little training in a basic CAD software, you can use design a simulator with the effort and cost of starting on the real thing because it is virtual. This will also allows one to learn new possibilities and realize new design options. Finished designs can then be posted for all.

????And we know then times a better overview erhaschen, how the different representations are usable, therefore ' s goes! ???

The designs do not have to be perfect, but the designs should center around an X-Sim approved hardware solution so that going forward, so we will be able to display the work with the submitted information knowing that the software will work well with it.

Feel free to give credit to the orginal technical designer, You can their name somewhere on the CAD drawing.
