    Hi all !

    Trying to build my first moving sim with resources and space i have

    After a long readings and watching youtube i went from moving seat with wiper motors to some 3dof platform

    I'm trying to build silent and smooth-moving thing, with not a lot of travel but with Heave.

    Going actuator conception(not worm-geared)

    Hope i'm on the right way

    Also a haven't too much space for it, only 1 meter width and 2 meters of length

    List of components:

    1. Motors - DC brush motors Dunkermotoren 24v
    2. Ballscrew 1605
    3. PSU MeanWell 320W 18-24V one for each motor
    4. IBT2 - 1 or 2 for each motor
    5. Hall-type potentiometers

    And also a lot of bolts, nuts, lasercut and wires )

    So i'm started....

    Of course i'll make a video, i'm very interested in it myself

    But the actuators cannot work without seat platform - it will broke itself

    I would place the strut as per your first photo, within the frame. That way all travel will be equal.

    My 3dof frame is approx 1m wide

    Take old trainer to build seatbase of it :grin

    Had to bought U-joints instead of bull-eye - to avoid rotating of ballscrew nut - success, it's stop rotating

    Installed u-joints on every corner, add length to rear beam (ab. 8 cm) to move COG a little backwards

    I'm the worst welder in the world )))

    I take it the pot will be attached to the wheel that travels up and down?

    What is the torque and rpm of the motors?

    Yes, you are right, it's already installed, but i removed them till i'm finish welding and cutting

    Not the best decision, but i like it for hall sensor pots

    Is there a gearbox on them?

    Do you know what output torque you achieve with the ball screws?

    No any gearbox. There is a same amount of torque on the ballscrew shaft because its directly connected to the motor shaft. One motor installed on the corner lift me up with ease without gas strut and really quick. But real talk is what it will be with quick direction change. Let's wait for me to install electronics and start smc3

    Could be a good idea, although a hall effect pot without any end stops would offer safety from breaking if over extending
