Here is a recent discussion about lifting mass for heave, the requirements are significant: http://www.xsimulator.net/community...actuators-to-xxx-4-actuators.7359/#post-87064

The other option is to have assisted heave, you can find different approaches to it under 3DOF here: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/what-kind-of-simulator-for-me.16/

This is my compact assisted heave: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/dx-racer-compact-simulator.5866/

You can check the FAQs for resources and suppliers, such as with motors: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/dc-motors-shopping-list.32/

@doktorherbal , you do realise the sim video above is a 2 DOF balanced point sim
There was a discussion somewhere here about this ride
    Ah, here it is http://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/racingcube.7325/
3dof Lift will be expensive more than likely.
3dof balanced point ( drift frame) is a lot cheaper to build. and you still get the feeling of heave.
    Just a suggestion.
    Dave.

Ya those are most likely the MD motor's. seems strange tho if they are the Expensive one's....That leaves that much less profit margin for him. and 750$ on 3 motor's for a rig thats what 1200$ doesn't seem very feasible.
