Hello, trying to setup a diy 3dof system.

Problem I am having is the motor only turns in one direction.
Running smc tool i can see (green line) my 10k pot moves fully from top to bottom. However manually moving the motor with the mouse it would only catch up to the green line in one direction. Moving in the other direction the motor does not move with the blue line. This is the same across all 3 motors.

I'm not sure what it is but guessing the arduino is either not sending a reverse signal to the ibt2 or the ibt2 is not reversing the polarity to the motors.

I dont know where to start now.

Ive tried Flashed the arduino uno r3 with smc3 with all the different versions with same result

I've checked and double checked the wiring between the arduino uno r3 and ibt2s

There are lots of possibilities, check the polarity of the motors and pots.

Are you using a genuine Uno or a clone?

    Are you using wiper motors?

Please post pictures of all of your settings.

    I'm using a clone uno.

The motors are from aliexpress. They work forward and backwards when I apply them directly to voltage.

I did have to reverse the voltage on the pots to get the direction correct.

I've put a voltage meter to the h bridge while trying. It does not show any reversed voltage.

What do you mean by setting? Like the smc3 tools screen?

Yes please post pictures of your SMC3 settings, running the Sine test.

Clone Arduinos can be an issue, so can damaged h bridge, IBTs and MMs are sometimes effected.

Here is the picture. Set to manual. Moved the motor up in a controlled manner pushing up the green line but when moving the motor down only the blue line moved without the motor moving leaving the pot/green line in place.

The motor and pot are connected through 1:1 gear with a gt2 belt.

What would you recommend? Should I replace the arduino with a legit one?

So looks like the issue was the clone arduino. Replaced it with a legit one and I can move the motor back and forth. However I need to replace 2 of the 3 h bridges.

I still can not connect simtools though.

Painful though it is I am glad you are making progress.

Can you please post pictures of your SimTools settings. If SMC3 works then SimTools should, some common issues are antivirus software messing with communication or misconfiguration, as there is a bit to set up in SimTools.
