    Hi guys,

as some of you know, I built a 6DOF rig thanks to you for DCS :

    I saw videos for 360/720° simulator :

I didn't see a lot of post on this forum about this way of simulator, except of the volume needed, is that a good solution ? what are the problems or avantages ?

    thanks a lot

All simulators are somewhat of a compromise and the advantages/disadvantages of particular design compromises somewhat depend on why a particular design was chosen.

A traditional actuator based 6DOF can produce some movement in 6DOF, but it can't do 360 degrees or sustain experienced forces past the limit of its axis movement.

A basic 360 degree rig is basically a 2DOF, so cant move in axis it does not have, it is somewhat complex in requiring things like slip rings, and the motion cue value of 360 degree movement is questioned by some in terms of complexity and cost Vs motion cue value of inversion. There can also be greater safety risks to engineer and manage solutions for.
