New here and building a 6-DoF Stewart platform. I’ve read the DIY actuator threads, but many are dated and parts sourcing is tough. I’m looking for U.S. sources for two items:

precision hollow shaft to sleeve a 1605/1610 ball screw. (main moving part of the actuator)
    • ID: >16 mm minimum (ideally large enough to clear the ball screw nut)
    • Type: seamless/precision shafting (not welded tube)
    • Length: ~800 mm (for ~500 mm stroke)
    • Material: steel, stainless, aluminum, or carbon fiber
    • Price context: U.S. quotes ≈ $300 each, which seems high but this is what I get when searching for "hollow shaft"
Any U.S. sources or alternatives you recommend?

Also, some use linear bearing at the top of the actuator housing (where the shaft comes out from) but others simply have a plastic sleave through which the shaft slides.

Any opinions on which approach is better?

I am attached few pictures from the forum to illustrate what parts I am referring to. Thank you
