    My Motion Simulator:
    4DOF
    Hello everyone,

I recently changed my setup, going from a Prosimu 2 DOF (2xSNC5) to a Prosimu 4 DOF equipped with four PRS200 100mm actuators and an SCN6 (040-100) for yaw movement. I’ve made significant modifications to make it shorter and narrower, with the goal of reducing its footprint and, most importantly, amplifying the angles. I'm really happy with the result the change is amazing!

I’ve added two linear rails between the Prosimu chassis and the seat chassis. Now, I’d like to add a 150mm actuator for acceleration and braking. This is where things get complicated: my Prosimu control board is a V2 and is locked to Simtools 2, a version modified by the manufacturer to manage the PRS200. If I want to use Simtools 3, I would need to change the controller board and pay €500, which I find quite expensive for such a small board the profit margin must be huge !

At first, I considered building an SFX100 or an SRT80 from Lebois Racing, but after discussing it with them, they advised against it. Adding too many different types of controllers could be counterproductive, and they couldn't guarantee that their actuator would work with Simtools 2 since they don’t use it. So, I was thinking of going for an SCN6 40-150, as the SCN profile is integrated into Simtools 2, which would allow me to easily add it as a new axis. However, apart from FREX in Japan or some US sellers, I can’t find any European suppliers (I’m based in France), and the price is quite steep for a single actuator, especially considering I didn’t pay that much for my platform o_O

    So, my questions are:

Based on your experience, does my reasoning seem sound, or should I consider other options?
Do you know of any European sellers for SCN6 actuators?
Any advice or ideas for this upgrade would be greatly appreciated!

Edit : I’d rather avoid an Arduino controller. I had a lot of issues with a Sim Wind that kept making my COM ports disappear in Windows, and it was a nightmare to get them back—I had to restore the system to a previous date
