    Hi Everyone,

    On my sim (below) I have a hollow tube supporting my wheel and also a steel "S" bend to hold my gearstick.

    I want to make both fold out of the way when entering and exiting the sim, but maintain the rigidity that they have now.

    For the tube I was thinking a pivot and pin type mount and for the "S" bend I was thinking a hinge and locking pin at the first 90 degree bend, but wanted to get feedback from the community as there could be some awesome ideas out there. Thank you,

    Archie.

    Ah yes, I recall that now in my "waiting in the wings" times while I trawled the forum :)

    I like your design for the wheel and stick mount - slick!

    I have since reversed the shifter mount so it can stay attached and clear the Warthog throttle.

    @Archie Another simple option would be a sleeve kind of setup where a smaller tube slides into a larger one. The down side of this would be that you would detach parts completely rather than folding them out of the way. This might not be what you are after but hey, it might give you some ideas.

    @Archie
    25mm tube inside 30mm tube, square box, hold drilled at the top, welded a 10mm nut on then found a adjusting nut thingy and it screws in and holds is tight, I have them on dual racers for steering height adjustment

    for sliding back and forth, I think you may have it covered, but I used draw rail sliders, screwed them onto the sides of wheel stand, then made up wooded holders and screwed onto that base, adjusting back and forth via a bracket and some holes drilled and a single bolt to hold it in place. Bolt I can lift out, move and put bolt back in. adjustable for 4' to 6 and a bit foot drivers, height adjustable steering column.

    @GIB SimRacing - hey mate, lack of funds at present to do anymore on the sim. Next job is painting it, making panels for the base and a general tidy up, then will come up with something for the gear/wheel issue. it's really only me using it, so I don't mind the F1 style of having to get in :)

    Did a video tour of the sim, so will post one upload finishes.

    I am guessing the 'upgrade ideas' will go on for a while.

    I will be looking forward to the video @Archie.
