    Hello!
Im updating my basic self-made playseat to 2DOF with Traction Loss.

Ive been planning to use Electronic Power Steering Motors, from Toyota.
I dont have any more data from the motors, how much power ect.

I ordered Arduino and couple of Moto Monsters, meanwhile ive been working on other parts.

To get this thing moving, i used Toyota Prius front wheel hub, bearing and shaft. ( this is going to be hybrid)
These thing is makes the traction loss.. and then there going to be U- Joint for 2-DOF movement. See the pic!

Hope this makes anysense, sorry my bad english.

    Antti

I would really like to know more about those power steering motors. What is the Wattage? RPM? Very good luck to you my friend, and I look forward to seeing more of your build.

There is no tag or markings on the motors.
These are located in the steering axle of the car. Motor has also an sensor for movement and torque, with is needed in original use.
Its works perfectly in many use, my ex co-worker build this little toy/pedal car for his son.. it runs great with car battery on it. :)
I put one motor on carbody grill, to help to spin the body when i welded and painted the bottom

hook a car battery up to it and a piece of tape on the output shaft, count the number of revolutions per minute. I am very curious about these. Thanks

This is an eps (electronic power steering) assist motor. they are rated at about 27 volts ac. Not sure about running them for prolonged periods at 12 volts dc. You may want different drivers than the monsters for these motors. Good luck and keep us updated on your tests as we are always looking for new types of components to try. the following is a quote from a toyota service document.

    "
The PRIUS +/PRIUS v is equipped with a 27 Volt AC assist motor for the
Electric Power Steering (EPS) system. The EPS computer generates 27 Volts
from the 12 Volt system. The 27 Volt wir
es are isolated from the metal chassis
and routed a short distance from the EPS computer to the EPS assist motor in
    the steering column.
    NOTE:
27 Volts AC has a higher arc potential than 12 Volts DC."

    Thanks for the post
Intresting, i never been noticed that on prius..
This motors are 10 years old, has been used on Avensis t25 and corolla 120 models. And these works on 12v, i have few ECU stored too..
They put this on rallycars too in here, with success

Made some progress this week, seat racks from toyota yaris, makes the seat move for different size of drivers, also had steering colum from toyota avensis with tilt, easyer to find perfect driving position.

Added a link, i upload pics when i male progress

What you have at the moment is not tractionloss, it's yaw. For tractionloss you need the pivot point in the area of the pedals (under the pedals, in front of the pedals).
    Think that way:
When you loose the rear in a real car, does it rotate around your seat or around the frontwheels?

Its coming there, little by little..
The next simulator what a make, gonna be so much lighter, smaller ect

Old diy handbrake assembly have to modify to this frame and mount the pedals.
Plug few wires and then there is possibility to make some testing

Please tell me im wrong, But i only see 1 castor wheel for support on the Traction loss frame...>That will not be very Sturdy and will want to Wobble like crazy. Also what length of lever do you have on the traction loss motor, From the pics it looks darn near 10" long....That Aint gonna cut it sorry to say.
