I've seen some videos where people are using motion in Elite Dangerous, a game that does not output telemetry..... How is that possible? I purchased a D-Box set a few days ago, and I'm looking in to a way of making it work with ED and games like that.

There appears to be a PC SDK for D-Box. I'm a little surprised no one has made anything to put in between SimTools and D-Box yet.

D-Box has shown no interest in it, so it would be up to a trailblazing owner to figure it out. @Thanos has a real talent for jail-braking commercial rigs, but I am unaware if he has ever considered doing so with a D-Box rig.

No sorry, its not matter of jailbreak the D-Box, it works fine with its software, no need to have simtools to control it, and certainly I wouldn't touch their hardware for modified control.

They clearly use a software mod to allow reading motion from the Elite Dangerous, perhaps some memory hooks via shared memory?

Works fine except there is no D-Box support for Elite Dangerous while there is for SimTools. Or did I just not look hard enough?

Or are you saying any individual should just use the sdk to make a memory hook D-Box plugin?

Not talking about trying to jailbreak or bypass any D-Box hardware/encryption. Just talking about trying to make SimTools "the game" D-Box supports.

I don't know much about D-Box. I saw there is an sdk, I assume so people can make their game D-Box compatible. I don't see why it'd be impossible to make a little program using that SDK that would be the interface simtools sends to.

Yeah. But how to acheice this? It's not possible for dbox devs to make this afaik. Would have to rely on some third party thing.. I find it strange that I am the only one with dbox asking about this.. Maybe there aren't many D-box owners

I'm sure there are many that used simtools as motion data source. Simtools can export its motion data via UDP or even via shared memory. Maybe ask the devs on D-box, they should had such requests before and perhaps already implemented such connectivity...

It's not possible to contact them for stuff like this, unfortunately. There is no way of making requests to them

Wow... no end user requests or feedback... that is insane, with all the money you pay them for their systems!!!

Come on, I'm dev too, I never cut such channels of communication to end customers, feedback is important for improvements and progress by adding support for requested features...

They just sound lazy to me to deal with the most important thing for their motion system, provide solutions for their customers... I wonder if a vendor or large customer asked such thing, given they would have better direct access, it would be available as option for them same day...

Yeha I know. It kind of disappointed me too. I only chose them because I know their systems are lightyear ahead of most other brands, and their game support is actually pretty good.. But I have to use back channels to get requests in to them.. I hope someone finds a way to add motion to third party games
