I am getting back into iRacing. I drive IRL and and very much a “seat of the pants” driver. I struggle on sims because I can’t feel the car. The biggest thing I’m concerned about is loss of traction. I feel like I could be a lot better on the sim if I could at least get the yaw axis alone in my setup. However I don’t see anyone build one with only that axis. It seems like everyone adds it for the 3rd axis. So can I build a budget yaw axis and run only that?

Just to be clear yaw, pivoting around a central point, and traction loss, prvoting near your feet, are different.

That said you could build just traction loss if you want.

You could even design it with future upgrades in mind, which may include haptics, telemetry driven race harness, or further motion axis.

Noted, I’m new to the sim rig deal, I just assumed that yaw and traction loss would be the same thing.

I do plan on more upgrades later, I just feel like traction loss would be the most beneficial to me over anything else. Especially since I’m trying to do this low budget and I need to prioritize. Thanks for the reply.
