Hey everyone, I stumbled upon this forum and have been reading as much as I can.

Before I dive too deep, I am hoping someone can help me with a basic question that I cannot seem to find an answer to, or understand.

I'd really love to build a DIY motion simulator, but I don't quite understand how to get the positional feedback.

I'd like to do it for VR, whether it be Rift, Vive or even PS VR if possible, but its not clear to me if the developer has to actually output the position that you can somehow grab from a USB port, or if there is a way of mocking it? Can someone either help me by explaining this, or pointing me towards a good explanation of this process?
