    Hi,
I was wondering what actuator would be great to use in a large scale simulator.
I mean that one large scale wiper motors like simulator is easy for me to visualize but, as everybody knows, wiper motors based simulators can´t be compared to SCN5´s when it comes to precision...
    So my questions are:
1 - Are there SCN5´s capable of lift 3x or 5x more weight, or to be short, a BIG SCN5?
2- If it would be made with a simple set of big eletronic motors + AMC like board, can the precision be raised to be compared to SCN5´s some way?

    regards,
    rafael.

How big a sim do you want to move?

Hi, just saw this diagram thought of moving a large structure with an AMC + AC motors, I think the biggest problem is the cost of AC drives ...
I think something like that ...

... although my wife would kick me out of my house :D :D

Hi Lopez! Very cool video :D It is impressive to see something home made with this size moving controled by a PC  :)
The responses from those actuators, for some reason that I do not know (pneumatics maybe), are a little delayed. Taking into account the weight, it is not bad.
I want it to be as fast as my wiper motors simulator at least. So it will be electronic and I will make it with aluminum tubes so I think it is going to have 1/3 of this weight (just guessing).
One of the most important difference is going to be the motion pivot placed above the whole thing...
I will start drawing it soon and place here for everyone to see.

    regards,
    rafael.
