    Greetings,
I purchased a spakfun FTDI BOB-00718 breakout board and hooked it up like in the photos. After downloading the software all I got is what you see in the picture. Any thoughts on what I did or did not do.. :)

    Hi,

Did you install the FTDI D2XX Direct Drivers? You need those, NOT the VCP drivers!!

(CDM) drivers must be installed (Get drivers here: http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/D2XX.htm).

D2XX drivers allow direct access to the USB device through a DLL. Application software can access the USB device through a series of DLL function calls.

Also remove the DIP switch jumpers, just in case it doesn't pull down the signals correctly.

Are you speaking about the RX - TX jumpers or the jumpers located directly adjacent to the plugins on the board? Or on the Servo jumper? One, two or all of the above. :)

No, the three black junpers right under the cable connections you made on the AMC...
These are used to disconnect the pullup resistors when you want to program the board!

    Greetings,
I was just checking out the caps, I've got 4 ea, multilayer ceramic capacitors 100nf/100 volts (104K), the parts list calls for multilayer ceramic capacitor 100nf/50 volts (104k), could this be the problem? :?

    Greetings,
I was wondering if I have to the remove the little short jumper on the sparkfun board BOB-00718 since I have the AVR 1.5? :?
Also one more thing you have to take care is to the remove the little short jumper on the sparkfun board that ties the VCCIO voltage to 3.3v. This is needed as on the AMC1.6 board

You can, but then you have to tie the VCC with the VCCIO pin... with an extra cable... This will give 5v level logic to the sparkfun's board ports and more likely it will communicate correctly to your amc board.

    Greetings,
I've got a little different setup, see pic, after desoldering the old 3.3 volt, is it possible to go next door and solder on the adjacent pad (5)? :?

Of course... then you don't need extra cable. I forgot that the new sparkfun boards had that change... I got my boards some years ago...

    Greetings,
Sad to say, no joy . I still get the same screen. I went to the website, when I try to download the 2XXX driver it gives me a CDM 2.08.24 WHQL Certified folder, with a bunch more folders inside.... What do I do with them? And I looked, where are the drivers! :?
