The shakers are like bass speakers as far as setup in large part. Not familiar with the Auras but I bet they aren’t powered so you will need one or more amplifiers to drive them - as many amp channels as you want shaker channels. Game Vibe is still in testing so if you want to piggyback on your existing sound you will need crossovers/filters to block higher frequencies, or get subwoofer amps that have their own cutoff filters built in. Or, if you run one of the other software solutions you just need an extra sound card or two (depends on how many independent channels you want and how many your sound cards have) to drive the amps directly. Just make sure your sound cards have enough output to drive the amps or that the amps accept low level inputs like you get from sound card. Enjoy!

You want things to match on power ranges and impedance. If the receiver has the same output impedance as the shakers input impedances, or is ok to drive through a mismatch (see the receiver manual), and it has enough power, you may be done.

Check wherever you bought the shakers or the "what’s in the box" part of the shaker product description for what’s included. Probably no wire.

There is lots of info at most manufacturers websites on mounting, wire to use, etc. The only odd thing here is using PC sound cards as a source.

Buying one of what? If you mean amplifiers, I don’t know what’s available in your area.

There are lots of shaker and audio tutorials online. If you search for key words you’ll find lots of information. You just need to dig in. It’s not hard but there are considerations I’ve mentioned above. Good search terms would be stuff like bass shaker, amplifier impedance, impedance mismatch, bass amplifier, subwoofer amplifier, etc. As you read through stuff, you’ll no doubt find other key terms.

@mirkobastianini just went through this and he can probably help. Plus, he’s in Italy so he’s a bit closer so supplier information may be more relevant.

But stick with it and you will be well rewarded. Bass shakers add a lot to the experience.

ahh thanks man, i'll search on youtube for best amps for bass shakers. Do you have any bass shakers? and what amp do you use for it?
also, what's the benefit of having more than one amp? nothing other than having the ability to use more bass shakers at once..? i'll also ask @mirkobastianini

btw, how do you send someone a message? i just write on their profiles?

Should add - search here too. Lots of us have set these up. I’d bet there is a FAQ entry but don’t know. And on the wire, if they don’t come with it - likely - then you will want fairly heavy gauge wire depending how long your runs are. There should be recommendations in the Aura manual but probably at least 12-14 gauge.

I do. I use Buttkicker Minis and have four. Two on each side under my seat. Each side is wired in series so impedance matches my Dayton Audio SA-100 100W plate amps. When driving in my real car I tried running my right and left tires on bumps in the road and you can tell a difference so stereo shakers can add to the experience especially if you like driving and want to feel the rumble curbs on either side in corners.

LADDD, thanks amigo. Btw, i went to that dayton page on amazon, and i saw the aurasound in the "frequently bought together" section. So people have already bought it and tried it with the aurasounds. Will probably buy it then

    Hi!
I'm using this amplifier, which has 200W per channel... and I'm using only one buttckiker mini LFE, which can works from 50W to 250W.

Just remember you need also a crossover to cut off high frequencies

it's not letting post link: here's the name:
Dayton Audio SA100 100W Subwoofer Amplifier

BASSSHAKERS.COM recommended it and said it also has built in crossover, which is why i bought it.

Also, does it include all the wired needed to connect to the 4 auras that i bought? or do i also have to buy specific wires to connect them?

@Mpmo - the amp that @noorbeast linked looks really good but doesn’t have a cutoff filter. That’s not a problem at all if you are using something like SimVibe or GameVibe through dedicated sound cards. But, if you are wanting to drive from the same sound you use for regular audio, you need a low pass filter on each channel too.

So it depends on what you are going to do. Those Dayton Audio amps are also only 100 watts on a single channel and just one isn’t suitable to drive 4 Auras. But it has an adjustable cutoff filter built in. Noorbeast's recommendation is 100 watts on each of four channels, again with no cutoff filter. But it would be perfect for driving 4 Auras in 4 corners. The Dayton amp has a power cord and about 2 feet of pigtails. No bulk wire. The Sure amp needs a separate power supply as well.

Since it’s Amazon, you can just file a return. It may not even have shipped yet. But if it has, just refuse it after telling Amazon it’s coming back. They’ll refund your money.

I’m really liking that one noorbeast linked but I’ve been running off regular audio while waiting for GameVibe in SimTools 2.2 so I needed cutoff filters.

As to 4 channel vs 2 channel, I don’t really even notice much difference between 1 channel and 2. I pick up more of the difference in my headphones.

Just to follow on from @Zed's comments you can use cheap USB sound cards for each channel.

I know it's a "do not ask" question, but are there any more news on the GameVibe details/time/beta? :)

    Members always ask ;)

Last I heard @yobuddy was putting the finishes on the next SimTools update, which is needed for Game Dash.
